The 10th generation Honda Accord has been unveiled globally, but Malaysia will have to make do with the 9th gen model a little while longer. The car does feel its age in some areas, but Honda Malaysia ultimately deserves credit for upgrading the Accord's safety equipment with Honda Sensing.
It may be old, but the Accord has not become a bad car overnight. It is a competent D-segment entry that is spacious inside and comfortable to drive. At RM170k for the 2.4 VTi-L, it is great value next to its competitors.

For me, the accord has been one of the better ones in its class. One thing is this still has a real automatic unlike the newer CVT in the 1.5T. In fact, this as a used car would be a fantastic deal, and tbh, the pre facelift has aged pretty well (just lacks curtains on the 2.4).

Kon, Would you guys in the motoring media say that we're slower in getting new models lately especially after all new vehicle pricing approvals go thru Automotive Business Development Committee, ABDC? I'm beginning to suspect new models (some even expected to be launched last year) like the Accord, Kona, Cerato, Juke, Xpander/Grand Livina, 2.0L Camry, updated Subaru XVs with Eyesight are taking ages to arrive when our neighbors have already have them on the roads.

There is definite delay in pricing approval of many new models. Hence many cars were launched with 'estimated pricing' and still not hitting the road months after launch.

Both are good purchases in their own right. Accord is better value and more comfy, but Mazda definitely better to drive

New accord does not come to malaysia coz the sale drop drastically worldwide and honda don't want to take risk to enter malaysia market, first looked at 10th gen accord is pretty hideous..don't know what's wrong with honda designer

Praying for the 10th gen Accord to be brought in with the 2 litre turbo (detuned civic type R engine if not mistaken) engine with a price of around RM180K.

Petrol Head I doubt it will be brought in. Our market always gets worse specs compared to Thailand, and yet Thailand doesn't even get the 2.0 Turbo. Our market will most likely be getting the 1.5 turbo and 2.0 Hybrid. A bit doubtful on the 2.0 Hybrid being brought in though

This Honda will the the last natural aspirated(NA), non turbo, non CVVT, not hybrid D-segment car. All signs of long term reliability. It'll take a different breed of driver to appreciate these qualities. Aging is much better unreliability. The only thing better than this "aging" Honda will be a straight 6 rear wheel drive with manual transmission.

💯 agreed with u 👍 im really like D Segment Sedan with excellent engine and gearbox pairing. A big 2.4 N/A engine with 5 speed Conventional Auto gearbox.

it is only some you can do to an aging dinasour.... wished honda Malaysia had brought in a 2004 euro spec honda accord 2.4 with manual transmission, and flogged it for 10 years... that would have been so much better than this dinasour..

Thailand don't have 2.0 Turbo. Only 2.0 Hybrid. I guess Msia will not get it also.

BoonChong Teh Malaysia has no more hybrid incentives. There will be no more hybrids coming in now. BMW, Mercedes, Toyota have sidelined hybrids
