Em’s actually admitted on a few songs that he did in fact pistol whip him. The reason why this differs to what he said on Sing For The Moment is because he wrote about half of the album before the verdict and then the other half after. I’m guessing he didn’t want to admit to it in a song before the verdict just in case it was leaked and affected the outcome. I forget which interview it was. It wasn’t too long after the album dropped though.

There's so many sounds and themes woven throughout this album like marches, imagery of the world on his shoulders, the grit and extra annunciation on similar vowels over the course of a verse. That's why I feel like this is his best album, he produced damn near the entire thing, and people throw the term "cohesive" around pretty liberally these days but this album is exactly that. Listen to third verse of this song and then go back and listen to The Slim Shady LP, it doesn't even sound like the same person.

You should definitely react to In your head from revival. In the 2nd verse there's this absolutely crazy rhyme scheme, his cadence and pronunciation are on another level. The structure of this verse comes great with the lyrical side where he just spills his most personal shit. One of his most heart hitting songs ever.
