I used to be pro-death penalty until I realized it's a form of human sacrifice. Capital punishment may be ok in rare cases for the most heinous crimes and offenders but not as a way for society to commit violence disproportionately against individual minorities as it used now. I'd rather see a guilty person get clemency thru life in prison than see an innocent person executed.

VanDaysha Taylor Tell your friend that back then, as now, white people, are seen at night because of their skin colour being harder to hide in the dark. Why are Balaclava helmets a colour that blends into the night? Why do soldiers wear camouflage cream on their faces in night missions? It's not blackface or like looking suspicious, or do you think England had lots of black people in the country back then? Back then, black people wouldn't have been in England, they were either in Africa or being taken from Africa and transported to the colonies to work in the sugar plantations and cotton fields. Very few, if any would have been walking around in England. Surprised your friend wasn't aware of that.

The death penalty should stand for only insanely major crimes that are committed. Think of if one of the most insane criminals broke out of prison from a life sentence and killed several people. If he had been executed than those people wouldn't have been killed.

If for some reason we can't give them the death penalty then they must be able to give something back to the people for their crimes and do there time in jail.

As a person living in the Philippines. I would have to say that i would follow Canada's example on Ending Death Penalty completely. As stated in one of the laws in The Constitution of Rights that "All men are created equal" Regardless of Race, Origin etc. Also all men and women can be forgiven. So If i were to be a future president of the Philippines, That's the first law that i would propose to the government.

Now divide 14,000 murders by 35 executions. The answer is 1/4 of one per cent. Yes, 1/4 of one per cent of murders in the US are indeed followed by execution. How can a penalty be expected to work when the criminal's odds of evading the penalty are 99.75%?

Bearing in mind the gruesome deaths that some of these killers bring to their victims, I can't say the death penalty can be any worse.... and what was the crime these victims committed that made them deserve the gruesome death penalty by their killers?
