The Horrors of the Hidden War: Inside the Tigray conflict in Ethiopia

Sexual violence against women - one of the horrific weapons of war. In Ethiopia where the conflict between Ethiopia's national defence forces and Eritrean troops on one side, and fighters from the Tigray People's Liberation Front has been raging since last November, thousands of women have been raped and tortured.
The Ethiopian prime Minister Abiy Ahmed won the 2019 Nobel peace prize for ending one of Africa's longest-running conflicts. But he now presides over a country where his troops are accused of aiding the abuse and torture of innocent people.
Our Africa Correspondent Jamal Osman managed to get into Tigray . He went to Mekelle the capital of the region - where thousands have already fled and scores of women and young girls have been raped.
He is one of the first foreign journalists to hear the stories in person of the women who have suffered unimaginably at the hands of the soldiers who raped and tortured them. This report contains highly distressing testimony.

Specially as to what is going on in Tigray region of Ethiopia has largely been a one sided story of mostly false propaganda with it's own western agenda behind it. Europeans and US are seizing on Tigray conflict with false propaganda of TPLF in order to justify potential intervention and weaken the Ethiopian government's negotiation position with Egypt over Dam dispute which the Ethiopians are currently building.

Yes indeed. The devil’s name in this region is called “TPLF”. Please do very thorough research on their moves since the Prime Minister Abiy came into power. “Don’t judge the book by its cover” ! No massacre was done to Tigray people by anyone. A political party from Tigray (TPLF) was leading Ethiopia for 27 years, the most darkest time in Ethiopian history where pregnant ladies were murdered and were left on the sun so other learn not to ask for their constitutional rights as citizens. A mother was forced to dance and sing around her murdered young child at a gun point. Moving forward, 3 years ago, the TPLF leaders were removed from power and were sent back to their hometown Tigray. About 3 months ago in Tigray, Ethiopian Defense Force soldiers (that were stationed in Tigray) were murdered in a gruesome way by TPLF. As the result, Ethiopian government was forced to take an action and bring those criminals to justice. Some Tigray’s people aren’t happy for justice being served because TPLF is from Tigray. What you see is a false propaganda. TPLF offsprings and paid individuals are spending millions of money that their fathers stole from Ethiopian taxpayers on spreading hate and false propaganda against Ethiopian and Eritrean governments as well as Ethiopian and Eritrean people. They have done the exact thing in 1980 to bring TPLF to power. The fact of the matter is, it is it Tigray’s individuals who massacred their Amhara spouses as well as their own children who were half Amhara (all together over 1,000 victims) at Mykadra and run away to Sudan.

They are just innocent civilians who are caught up but god hasn’t helped them? Why has he not saved them from torture? The truth is the TPLF who ruled Ethiopia for 27 years and in 2018 were removed from power by the popular Ethiopian public uprisings and moved to the Tigray region, started the war, declaring it as a "People's War" by giving weapons to everyone, including underage kids to march to Addis Abeba for power. It lost the war within 17 days. They have ruled Ethiopia for 27 years and are now humiliated, defeated, and hiding in the bush to save their lives. Those who supported them, especially elements within the west who have a personal interest and Egypt who want to stop the Millenium dam and its supporters, likely Israel for geopolitical reasons, were surprised by the quick outcome. Above all, there is huge painful anger among the family of this Junta TPLF who lost the war. Most of them, who live a comfortable life in the west, are crying and declaring a war of narratives, especially on the image of Eritrea, (which was several times attacked in its capital city Asmara by TPLF missiles). They publicly through social media, are advising their families in Tigray to create dramatise rape and other genocide issues that can be bought for the western audience. It is the truth, but a sad truth. Last but not least, is this the usual old tactic to weaken or invade strategic and rich Eritrea and Ethiopia, by creating humanitarian issues? Let's see and wait.
