I had heard the story of Walt Disney before. That's probably why all his films have a stepmother and no real mother. It's horrible that the previous residents kept silent about the defect in that house. Have they also been punished for that? In fact, they were guilty because they covered up a defect. Very sad.

Hi Spa Guy, This is truly terrible the previous owner knew of the faulty furnace and the carbon monoxide and did nothing to alert the new owners, he should've been charged with murder at least .A sad report but well constructed. Take Care

The version of the story I heard was far worse. The story goes that they knew about the furnace problem. Rather than have someone with the appropriate expertise do the repairs, Walt Disney had some employees from the studio perform the work. Obviously, they botched the repair, resulting in the death of Disney's mother. If true, Disney bears some responsibility for what happened.
