Thank you for sharing this video..and this is the fact that happens to them..the trauma and mental health is at risk.that 250$ isn't given to them equally..for the ratings or filipino onboard only received according to their position and its 100$ and below. And the agency who refused to help them and tell them to stop complaining coz it never stated in the contract(the compensation)..then how about the trauma of our loveones..i thank you for making this exact video.. hopefully this could massively shared, and be heard worldwide.. Esp.to philippine maritme industry.

The usage of "strike" for laborers refusing to work until employment conditions are changed originated with commercial sailors in the days before steam power. If the ship's officers were too rough or made obviously foolish and dangerous decisions, the sailors would strike the sails and sit until the officers revised their actions. U. S. shipping companies would not get away with the actions described; the sailors' union having the contract would shut down the entire company, file a complaint with the Labor Relations Board, and take the company to court for breach of contract. The operators of the Unity Explorer are increasing the risk of a labor union forming by trying to skip out on hazard pay, or at the least, losing some of the crew. (On the other hand, U. S. shipping companies have a hard time competing for international shipping because their labor costs are considerably higher.)

Great educational video - would have never known what ship crew get paid or what they go through. As usual corporations just look at the final dollar and don’t care for the workers actually completing the task. I hope no one continues to work with the unity shipping co
