Love your videos! Even after a whole day of programming in the office, I can watch this as educational entertainment. Your humor lightens this up greatly and jerks my brain awake again when it was dozing off. And thank God your jokes don't feel forced like in so many other channels, that's the charm of the guy who has been there and done the difficult work. Love the pacing, the scope and the depth, it's entertaining and pleasant to watch, and deep enough to learn a lot from it, but doesn't get lost in details. I really like the treasures (like the RFC 793) you silently show, that I can follow if I choose to. There's a wealth of knowledge here, and even if I know stuff already, just watching someone like you work makes me a better engineer.

I am really excited for this new series! Your explanation of things really helps me learn to explan things better to my students. Such as "a server is just a program that gives you a file."

Unfortunately I never continued with the series. I found that the web is too much of a mess to get a good course structure going. Do you have any idea, especially for your students, what kind of videos would be really helpful?

LiveOverflow I think what they struggle with the most is going from ones and zeros to lights(pixels) on the screen lighting up. The place in-between assembly and C, then C to html. Making these connections would help me as well. Also, maybe a step by step process from what happens when you click a key on the keyboard to a movement happening on the screen. You are right the concept of the Internet is huge but I think once people understand the low level the rest is almost just rinse(make a change for individual needs) and repeat.

Why is the port 8080 instead of 80?.
@LiveOverflow
@LiveOverflow 5 жыл бұрын
no particular reason. Standard HTTP server port is 80, but during development people like to use 8080, or 8000. Also typically you need root to listen on low ports like 80, so that's also why you often use higher ports durign testing/developing.

in the pentest perspective there are not a few weaknesses in php code. but in the programmer's perspective it only takes a little creativity to overcome those weaknesses. in my opinion php is not to blame, but the one to blame is the lazy programmer.

Love your videos! Nevertheless, the "FUCK YOU PHP" is kind of unprofessional IMO. I'am absolutely no fan of PHP, but on the one hand, nobody is forced to use it, and on the other hand, as you say it in the next video, it is the authors of the tutorials fault if they publish shitty code. Nothing PHP related, I could do the same thing in Java, or Go, or and other language.
