In ancient times the Mongols were the most feared army the world had ever seen. The HU are the modern day equivalent, but they are not conquering the world with violence, but rather with the universal language: Music.

I’ve been lucky enough to see these guys play live and they’re amazing. They finish with this song and the whole.... tribal thing works really well with an audience of metalheads. It was pretty awesome being in a crowd all joining in with the Hu Hu Hu Hu Hu chant that goes through this song. There’s something about this kind of music that transcends borders and cultures. It’s primal. I love it.

These guys are really cool...even my wife likes them. The whole album is good actually. I copied & pasted this next part from a comment I made on another reaction video to this song: Regarding the instruments played by The Hu, I lifted this info from Wikpedia (therefore it is possible that it's not 100% accurate): The morin khuur (also known as the horsehead fiddle) is a traditional Mongolian bowed stringed instrument. The topshur is a two or three-stringed lute an the tsuur is an end-blown flute of varying lengths. Cheers!

For those that don't know, the creature in their band symbol is _not_ a dragon, but a snow leopard. In trying to decide on a symbol that represents ancient Mongolia and the Hunnu (Xiongnu), they did some research. A friend of theirs informed them that a royal burial site had been discovered in 2011 that indicated that the snow leopard might have been sacred to the Hunnu. The sinuous nature of the symbol is to show the way the snow leopard moves on the mountains. There's a short video about it on their channel.

so i discovered the HU (wich is mogolian an basically mean The People) via a friend 6(?) Months ago The Vilolin thingy is actually a mongolian Horse Head Fiddle, and the Cool Guitar is called a Balalaika beeing the people of Ghenghis Khan the mongolians are very proud people, but they hot put under the boot of the chinese and the russians, so the Hu has many uplifting an somewhat uproraing texts and some what partiotic ther Music is called Hunnu Rock by the band

I really love this band. I knew I would get you to help with the instrument..🥰🤟❤
@Bad_Wolf_Media4 жыл бұрын
There's a correction here, this is NOT a balalaika, which is a Russian instrument. The two-string upright instruments are morin khuur, as you said, the horse-head fiddles. The guitar-appearing instrument in this video is a tovshuur. Both originate from Mongolia, as do other instruments they play that aren't seen in this video (flutes, etc). You can also hear "standard" guitars, bass, and drums in the track, and they're all present when they play live, but the primary instruments are the 2 morin khuur and the tovshuur.
