P.s. anyone know which BOC editions sound best? I bought the RM box sets and still very little to no low end. Someone that really cares needs to give their catalog the treatment it deserves. The only ones that sound decent (to these ears) are the first 3.

"Love Her All I Can" great call, I love that song. I would've liked to seen Rush do "Afterimage" or "Chemistry". Motorhead is my all-time favorite band and they have a ton of songs I wish they'd played for me. A few near the top would be "Outlaw" "Crazy LIke a Fox" "We Bring the Shake" "When the Eagle Screams" "One More Fucking Time"

Can't beleive that I saw something that Pete never saw. Deep Purple played a concert in the city I live (Florianópolis, Brazil) in 2014. Into the Fire was the second song on the set. When the song started my mouth fell open. Sure, Gillan didn't sing it like he was on his twenties, but it was great nevertheless. About Ryan's picks, I saw Megadeth doing The Skull Beneath the Skin on Rock in Rio in 1991.

@godetonter4764 2 жыл бұрын
@@jerfacekilla he hated anything resembling a ballad . He has reaped what he's sown being in a mellow band that doesn't hardly have a song that isn't a ballad. Love can really make someone a complete contradiction of themselves. He would have never pictured himself playing mandolin in a Folk band back in the early 1970s. He isn't the total jerk he was back then either. Guess even Ritchie Blackmore was subject to change

Chris, I agree about Judas Priest; I wish more bands were like them in terms of digging deep into their catalogue. I know it's not metal, but I wish the likes of Genesis would have done that. They are horribly predictable and safe live. Also, dude, the amount of shows you have been to in your life is absolutely insane! I'm 38 and have been to like 14 in total, though I was a late bloomer admittedly. Here's some picks for me: Genesis - Supper's Ready Yes - Endless Dream Black Sabbath - Symptom Of the Universe Rush - Xanadu

I guess the reason Maiden doesn't change their setlist during a tour is because of their huge stage setup. I saw the Legacy of the beast in 2019 and I'm going to see them again in July. The only difference will be the songs from Senjutsu, which I'm really looking forward to.

Great subject for a show. I'm sure everyone can identify with this. All of us who are or have been 'concert regulars' have bands or artists we've seen regularly where we're frustrated that we have a favourite song, that the band doesn't play live. Great first choice from Mr Alo and Pete (Genocide). A band I've seen a few times over here in the UK who will actually play some requests for deeper cuts during the gig is Y&T. Meniketti is great for that. Thanks for 45 minutes of great entertainment guys and for giving us viewers your time.

Iron Maiden - Saw 'em five times, they never played "Gangland" (one of my favourites off TNOTB). KISS - Saw 'em six times, and of course (due to the fact that they NEVER put deep tracks on the setlist), they never played "Not For The Innocent" (which could easily replace "God Of Thunder" as the "Gene In The Spotlight" song), or my beloved Ace sizzler "Save Your Love". Slayer - saw 'em seven times, and they never played "Crionics". Their best attempt on "Slayer Maiden", killer guitars, a true highlight on "Show No Mercy".

Fun show. Lots of great obscure music. Being from Detroit, I have seen Ted Nugent more than a few times in High School and College in the 80/90s. But I never saw him perform Journey to the Center of the Mind. Until..the late 90s when he surprised everyone bring Derek St Holmes on stage and pulled out Journey. Not just the riff. But the full song. Very cool 😎

Hi Pete, I have seen Deep Purple play Into The Fire here in Australia, however of the 8 or 10 times I have seen them both here and over in the US, I have never seen them play Child in Time. I know Maiden play Wrathchild everywhere in the world but for some reason they don't play it here and that's one of my favorite Maiden songs and my 3rd as I only got to see Black Sabbath in recent years I never got to see them play anything off Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Live except for the opening riff that Tony Iommi plays before Paranoid.

Rainbow, especially during the Dio era have very limited setlists for their 2 albums they were touring. They never play Tarot Woman or Run with the Wolf live. And on their Long Live Rock and Roll tour also they did not play much from that album as well. Guess it was the time when Ritchie was into extended solos and each song last abt 8 mins so, the setlist was limited.

Ryan Skow-I hadn't heard BOC play Astronomy in 20 years until they played it last November as part of a 5 song encore at the 2nd of 2 shows I saw them play at The Bellyup Tavern in Solana Beach(San Diego county). I am going to see BOC in New York City in September for 3 shows where they are going to play the debut, Tyranny & Mutation & Secret Treaties in their entirety(1 album each night plus extra set of songs). I did hear that Secret Treaties night has sold out but, I'm sure you could get a ticket if you wanted to go. The BOC song I want to hear is Nosferatu. Not sure if they ever played it live.

You wanna know a band that's lazy with their setlist? It's Def Leppard! I love them, but I've done research on them for a couple of years now, and their setlist has stayed mostly the same since 1993. With the exception of a few songs from 'Diamond Star Halos,' their setlist always contains "Bringin' on the Heartbreak," "Switch 625," "Foolin," "Pour Some Sugar On Me," "Hysteria," and "Animal," etc., and I'm sick of it! I'd love to see them play "High 'n' Dry (Saturday Night)" and "You Got Me Runnin'" live. The former they played at their Vegas residency in 2013, which was before I got into the band.

Hi Pete - Deep Purple did Into the Fire on their Rapture of the Deep tour 2006/ 2007, saw them at Manchester Arena UK, and I have to say they absolutely killed it and Gillan almost got into a growl when belting out 'Into the Fieeeeeeerrrrrr' I also saw Priest do Genocide a number of times in the late 70's early 80's when they nearly always did the same Unleashed in the East set list songs for a couple of tours. Judas Priest - Let us prey - though they did it a couple of times on the Sin after SIn tour Saxon - Militia Guard Blue Oyster Cult - Nosferatu Rainbow - Gates of Babylon MSG - Samurai - Graham Bonnet did it but I'd love to hear it properly with Schenker Deep Purple - Flight of the Rat and Living Wreck (although they did do that at least once in 2006)

1. Destruction - Of the six times I have seen them they have never played 'Satan's Vengeance' off their Sentence of Death ep. They would play Total Desaster, Black Mass, and Mad Butcher off it but never seen them perform the latter. 2. Swallow the Sun - Another band I have seen six times and the sixth time is when they finally played something off Hope but it was the title track. I would love to see them perform 'These Hours of Despair' off it instead. 3. Though BOC's Heaven Forbid isn't their best, the song Harvest Moon rips. 5 of my favourite bands and songs that they never played live (as far as I am aware). If I am wrong, please put me right someone, especially if there is a live version available on KZfaq. Thanks 1/FREE - SOON I WILL BE GONE 2/LYNYRD SKYNYRD - ROLL GYPSY ROLL 3/BAD COMPANY - CALL ON ME. I've see Paul Rodgers and Bad Co, quite a few times but have NEVER seem them do Rodgers best post FREE track 'Silver, Blue & Gold. Yes, they/he have done it a few times live, but very rarely! It should be a staple of EVERY live gig they/he does 4.THIN LIZZY - RUNNING BACK The only track from Jailbreak that the band have never done live. I asked Scott about this ten years back, and he replied there was never any general reason, it just wasn't one of Philo's favourite tracks. 5.JEFFERSON AIRPLANE - COMIN' BACK TO ME

I saw Opeth three times between 2008-2012 and they never played a pre-Still Life track, which I found disappointing - I’ll never hear In Mist She Was Standing, but they ought to play that every show! I did see that almost entirely acoustic headline show in 2011, however, which I didn't appreciate at the time haha! I’ve seen Moonsorrow five times from 2008-2020 and seen every track from Voimasta ja Kunniasta except for “Hiidenpelto including Häpeän hiljaiset vedet”, which they’ve never played anywhere! I'm fortunate enough to have seen all of Verisakeet though and that was a true pleasure! I’ve seen Winterfylleth 5/6 times since 2013 and would love if they played Brithnoth: The Battle of Maldon (991 A.D.), which is a great longer and more epic track. These guys are pretty good at covering the majority of their albums, so I don't have many complaints. I have never seen Maiden, only saw Priest once in 09 (good set though including Between the Hammer and the Anvil), and only saw Heaven and Hell once in 07 so I’m more in the Ryan sphere of smaller shows!

Total Eclipse one the best Maiden B Sides. Cross Eyed Mary also awesome. Massacre another cover also awesome. I wish they would dump Iron Maiden as the closer and do something else. Enough with closing with Iron Maiden. There is a show for you. Songs I never need to hear again live from bands I love.

Apparently, pointing this out gets a comment deleted….let’s try again. That set list site is not a definitive source of song data as it’s loaded with gaps. One can certainly find info on most tours, but its stats are only for setlists contributed to the site. So if a band played 100 shows in 1976, the site may only have setlists for only 20 dates. So to say “x band has only played this song x times,” is not necessarily accurate. They may have played a given song on an an entire tour, but the site only has info on a couple of shows from it, which skews the data. There are blank sets on there from shows I was at in 80s from big name bands. It’s usually not hard to find a representative set from any given tour as most bands stick to the same sets, so you can often piece together what a band likely played.

I’ve never seen Metallica do “The Outlaw Torn”, my favorite song ever made. On a slightly unrelated note, how the fuck has Maiden NEVER played “Flash of the Blade”?!

According to setlist fm, Ozzy has played "Diary of a Madman live 11 times. Over the course of attendance at several solo shows, it is no surprise that I never heard it, although interestingly, I did hear the studio track as an introduction to a June 1992 Oakland Coliseum show. It came across as a tribute to Randy. The site lists 45 times "Perry Mason" was played live, I never heard it, and remember being disappointed because I caught the Ozzmosis tour at Portland Memorial Coliseum. If Iron Maiden really wants to blow people's minds, they will open shows on the next tour with a punishing version of "Quest for Fire." Come on, guys, WTFN? I notice from fan vids that the Rolling Stones have reprised "Out of Time" on the latest tour. The song figures prominently in the Voight/Fonda film Coming Home, and it sounds really sweet on the tour.

I saw Ozzy do "Diary of a Madman" at an Ozzfest, I know Brian Tichy was the drummer. I think that was 2000 or 2002? Something like that.

Ozzy played sabbath bloody sabbath at Donington MOR in 1996. I saw that show and was great - check out the set list one of his best; and his set list has more or less been the same for the last 35 years!

I saw Kansas at least once every year from their 1st gig in 1974 to 1982, after which Kerry Livgren left the band. And they never performed Curtain of Iron, which was released on the 1980 album AudioVisions. Pete, you've seen them since 1982 - did they ever play it during any of those years?
