Notice how Katniss reaches for Peeta's hand in this scene, whereas in the first movie it was Peeta reaching for her hand

I like how she stared straight at snow when she like burst in to flames

i hate it in the first part and this part that they only show Peeta and Katniss, then im like: I wanna see the district 10 tributes dressed as cows!

My favorite part about this scene in the book is when Katniss notices the district ten tributes are dressed as cows with falling belts and she says how pathetic they look 😂😂😂

Back in Hunger Games, Peeta tried to reach for her hand. She refused at first but they raised it up for a good show, for everyone to see. Now, it was Katniss who reached for Peeta's hand. And to think that it was under behind the carriage it really wasn't for show anymore. My babies have come so far...

I love how Katniss just give Snow that look her face is neutral but her eyes are saying "I'm going to take you down one way or another, we are not going to be sacrificial lambs to you or the capital." Snow hears the people chanting her name he knows that she is the fire sparking hope to the people and he is afraid of Katniss. A girl who did what others did not she willfully volunteered herself a tribute to save her sister Katniss knew that Prim Rose wouldn't make it out of the games alive. Katniss who inspired will, hope, strength, and unity and snow is doing everything he can to crush that he's pushing Katniss and she's pushing back. Makes me sick seeing the Capital living like royalty and using human beings as amusement just like in the Greek times when they used Gladiators for entertainment.

I get chills when katniss looks at snow with that death stare. Shes not afraid and when the fire started and the people cheering her name. It gets me everytime. This is why I love katniss

When you see how Peeta looks magnificent and strong here then you see him at the end of Mocking Jay part 1 you're like: "What the frell did they do to him?" What sort of monster goes this far to destroy a human being? And you realize, this sadly happens IRL...

Peeta's face as he glares at Snow is so strong and powerful. He's extremely underrated

Peeta will always be my favorite character and I don't care what anyone thinks! His character was so well written and even though he was deeply hurt by Katniss' feelings for Gale by that time in Catching Fire, he was still always kind and selfless towards her and always supported her in what she needed to do. And I could list a thousand other reasons why he's so great..

I always loved the attention to detail in these movies. You can tell it was Katniss's idea to set the flames off just when they reached Snow because her flames start a split second before Peeta's showing he was waiting for her signal to turn them on

cinna was the true hero in those books. if you pay attention, he was actually the one who created the image of the rebellion. what i like in the books is that she was just trying to survive, not be a hero or an icon~

them holding hands here makes me so emotional bc in the first one they were holding them up for everyone but this time they’re holding their hands down in the chariot because it’s not for anyone else. it’s for them

i loved how they incorporated that hand-holding thing in the movie. in the books, when peeta asked, katniss didn't even hesitate. she knew they had to do it together because she's learned to rely on peeta. peeta was her lifeline in that arena, just as much as she was the lifeline of panem. just shows how even the strongest of people need someone from time to time.

I love how the crowd starts screaming Katniss’ name. I like to imagine that everyone was screaming for finnick and then Katniss came out and most of the people started screaming for her.

Watching this with the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in mind, makes me imagine that Snow sees Katniss as Lucy; back to life as the mockingjay to bring him down once and for all. (Especially at 2:18)

Almost 7 years since this scene and it keeps being iconic.

I began to read book last week. I looooove this saga....

I love the non-verbal communication between Snow and Katniss at 1:50. They lock eyes, he tilts his head in this anticipating manner as if silently challenging Katniss to do her thing, for he knows that she has shots to fire. And it seems like after she receives his attention and the hint of curiosity, that she shows off the flames. If I hadn’t known that they’re enemies, I would have thought that Snow’s the one who made the costume as he seems to expect this kind of trick. He always found himself feeling frustrated and fascinated by Katniss at the same time and this is one of the scenes that captures him showing respect for his greatest enemy. Especially when he cannot restrain himself from the little, impressed smile afterwards - a very similar expression to his final day, when he watched Katniss aiming at him, observing and awaiting her next move as always. Kind of like a mentor who watched her from afar. (I know Snow’s a tyran but Katniss definitely had a special place in his frozen heart, most likely due to Lucy Gray.)

😂 I love how everyone is chanting Katniss' name, despite Peeta being the outgoing, affable one. I like Peeta, and I'm sure they do too, but the Girl on Fire is the one they really want to see, and Peeta is basically an extension of her. They love him due to his connection to her. Truth be told, she is the true Victor of the 74th, and they all know it. Best part though, is that I believe she was the only Victor getting chants. Finnick and the siblings got some cheers, sure, but *everybody* was chanting 'Katniss.' She is a crowd favorite, and I'm sure that pissed off Snow and the Careers.

Love the drums in the scene, it gives the illusion that the soundtrack is actually playing in the scene as well.

the architecture of the capitol is amazing, and I've been wondering what the whole city looks like

but imagine if one of the drummers messed up...

imagine if one of those drum things were messed up also if someone sneezed hard the costume would be not on fire xD

Its amazing how all those Timpani's are so in sync with each other and no conductor

The hunger games movies were surprisingly accurate to the books they even kept the sugar cube

I wish in this scene that they panned more also on the victors, because this is a quarter quell.
