I always play with nothing but the tracking cones... It's a whole other pace, where you'll have to be perceptive of the surroundingst. Loving it!

If you really want it realistic make it so you have to reload manually

This is a ton of fun to play! It's even better with a bow and without zeroing so you are not messing shots up and just trust the pins. If someone haven't triend playing like this, definitely give it a go! Just put some other skill than zeroing since you will be messing shots up with that, a lot :D

You doing this made me think of some of the older deer hunter games I use to play alot. deer hunter 2 and deer hunter 5 were a couple of my main ones I use to play a lot. Also every time you guys bring up dogs, it makes me think of bird hunter wild wings edition.

I only hunt like this so the way to see the wind is there will be particals flying around the more particals the harder the wind is blowing

I would think it's perfectly fine to use rangefinders in this challenge, because you have to know the distance of an animal, hunting IRL, with rifle, and especially with bows, to know which pin to use

Besides the reloading, I'd say add a large backpack. The animals in this game don't spook easily enough compared to real life (or even Classic for that matter).

You make it even harder then it should be.. Naturally a hunter knows what he has zeroed his rifle to.. It is great and all that the animal tracks don´t glow, but a hunter will examine tracks none the less, and track the animal..

Really enjoy these videos. It's ok that [ examine track ] comes on. It does so when you're standing on top of tracks, which you would see in ' real ' hunting anyway.

I want there to be a realism mode where you have to eat and drink and are affected by weather conditions and have to sleep and start to get affected by fatigue. This game could be a really badass game if it wasn't so casual.

I love this, but I believe if you want the realist thing, you've gotta go outside and hunt yourself. And see how diffrent they are.

Anyone else have problems laying down and shooting and the shots doesnt register? Had the Invisible wall glitch for caribou alot of times, but this seems to be a problem every time im trying to lay down trying to shoot ANY animal. Its fine when crouched or standing from the same spot shooting . Had it some weeks now. Fooster, the moose most likely came in because she had her zone there, not cause the rattler, you were at the right spot the right moment ☺️ Keep the vids coming grizzled legend

You should’ve set your rifle sighting range to 150 and left it that way as that’s more realistic, as the only scopes that have changeable range setting tend to be far more expensive than most hunters are willing to spend

I now know to listen for the Jaw click the wolves make.. That way you know an attack is imminent. I once rode an ATV past a wolve pack and they chased me for what seemed like 10 minutes! I got back to the outpost.. Decided to head out on foot and they were waiting and of course I ended up Puppy chow..

A lot of times when people stalk a animal they take a compass and they mark their zeros on their scope they also may use wind smoke

For the " press E to spot" just remap the E key to something like \ something you're not tempted to press

When you do the rat challenge again you should do atleast one episode like this would be fun and interesting to watch and would make it more challenging.

Fooster, you prob know this, but you can turn the zeroing off in the skill tree, and then you’ll know it is 150m for rifles

Hey fooster, idk if you will read this but im a huge fan! Im into hunting in real life here in america, in like the layton lake biome like taco. Im not criticizing, because i love this realism but normally when hunting like this, one only takes one main main weapon, a sidearm, and bionoculars dont normally have range finders, those are 2 differnet tools, calls and sprays are also common. Anyways, love the videos, keep them up! I always love to get a new notification from you!

You should be able to customize the amount of animals in the woods. There's obviously way too many.

Sight ranging, rifle sight in distances, and wind direction are tools used in real life. Should have been left on. Glowing tracks. highlighted downed animals and colored kill zones on the map are the ones that should have been disabled IMO. Swell video, great challenge.

I wish they would make a transparent wind indicator with a bold N, E, S & W against the terrain with no background and a dull-ish arrow with a color you choose.

Try the Cherokee Challenge: - Recurve bow only (no tracer arrows) - No spotting - No binoculars - No callers - No scent eliminator - No hunter mate - No zeroing - No vehicles - No fast travel - Turn off spotting outlines - Max tracking - Wind info allowed

Just had a go finding the animals wasn't to hard but tracking them after shooting took so long and having two grizzlies sneaking about you in the trees is abit frightening glad you came up with this or I would have never known

To be fair though, Zeroing are available IRL as well ;) but the majority don't use that but have the rifle dialed in and a lot of practice with both "cheaper" ammo and the hunting ammo aswell.

Ngl this game is so beautiful even on low settings and it's so well optimized like i can run it on a hd 5850 and it's still hella beautiful

That’s why I don’t use zero! I just account for the bullet drop. I’m used to my 7mm

the graphics in this game are probably the best ive ever seen.

When you want to shoot an animal you want it to get broad side and shoot it right behind the shoulder blade and most of the time you will get a double lung.

The Animals do make tracks it's just like real hunting they will only show on soft terrain. Look out for trampled grass

I would have left the HUD on just because there isn't a wind direction puffer thing/you can't pick the heads of that grass and rub them down to see wind direction. Plus, unless it's the faintest of winds you would be able to tell where it's going. Another reason is you'd know your ammo count, just like you'd know your zero. So, I would leave that part on but otherwise I like it. Oh, and zero is descending. So, 300-150-75

I tried this on Layton lakes and bagged a diamond whitetail it really is more challenging but is alot of fun

you got the order of the zeroing backwards. it's 75->300->150->75

10:25 but you would know what you are zero'd at by the dials on the scope its a shame you can see those numbers better on the top/side of your scope

I wish i could try it out but cant cause my brother keeps on breaking our laptops when he rage quits and it was 5 laptops windows 10, 8, 7 and my dads work laptop which is those three and my dads own laptop that was a windows 10 that was 64bit but im in grade 9 in saving alot of money for my own laptop or pc i have already a couple 100 bucks and hoping il buy it and the game so yeah it sucks now whe have nothing but a phone to play. Sucks to have a brother like mine.2020 gunna be great.

the range zeroing is a bit much because in real life you'd be able to look at the rifle and know where it's at. and the wind could be detected by feel or a wet finger. so i dont see why those are turned off. you'd still know these in real life

You can follow an animal simply by the grass that's pushed down which I always thought was pretty cool. Max graphics settings. 😁

You're saying you don't know what your zeroing is set to because the HUD is off...but is that not the thing, in the real world you'd have something on the sight that would show the set zeroing?

Turning off the wind direction and compass isn't realistic, because you'd have a compass and be able to tell which way the wind was blowing. Everything else was great!

The only reason I don't use this mode is because theres nothing realistic about NOT being able to zero your weapon in and know where your bullet will land and at what range.

if you want realism - you should remove left side notification mark... It appears when you scare animal, when you kill animal or when statistics get updated... Most annoying in the game..

Unbind all of your keys from your spotting and stuff that might work

I like this, but you should keep your HUD on because you should know your zeroing, wind direction, visibility, and the extra noise your making in real life. But I see what your trying 😉👍. Cool vid👏.

Cool video man. I hate that there is no way to get rid of "STOP ANIMAL" hud... So obnoxious. In addition to that it is in the middle of the screen. Same goes for all the interact HUD tooltips.. I wish we could get rid of that.

Realistically, you would know your zero at all times. I'd say turn it off for this, and switch to another active skill or perk

But u should have a wind on because in reality u will feel the wind direction on your face and stuff. And u will be able to use range finder and zero in you weapon by it as well

You should do another episode like this with taco but you guys can only use the compound and recurve bows an you can't use the auto ranging sight

Well knowing what range you're zeroed into is very realistic. I find it sad we cant use the scope itself to tell.

Have been playing like this for some time, it´s awesome. But would be nice if they put in some score system to this , so us who plays it would get a little extra for doing it. or like a score feature to this. So players that is playing realistic mode , is scoring against others doing it.

The problem is that stuff that you turn off actually makes it less realistic. In real life you have a body with senses. You have a real sense of how loud you're being, for one example. Those icons in the game are to make up for you lack of real senses. The sound you make in game does NOT equate to how much you're going to alert an animal. Without those icons, unless you're roleplaying as a partially deaf hunter, it's just not realistic. IRL you can feel the wind in your face, can use real objects to hide, can tell how much noise you're making. In a ge sometimes the only way to convey such is with icons.
