Sounds like you have the bases covered. We can always hope they don't chisel plow the fields while it's still deer season.

I own 120 acres to hunt, in southern Indiana. It mostly open mature hardwoods, rolling hills with very little thickets that deer like to bed in. But my neighbors on my west side who dont hunt have tons of thick bedding area's for deer. On the east side is a 200 acre farmers field that gets planted with bean, or corn and rotates. North of me across the road (gravel) is a cattle ranch with some hay fields. South of me is more thicket and hard woods lots of pines and is owned by a group of guys (doctors) that only hunt few times a year. The deer tend to stay west and south. Deer cross my property from the bedding areas (west side) and go east to beans. When there is beans we kill a lot of nice bucks and nice does. The years its corn, we struggle because they stay bedded up in the corn, then once the corn is gone, very few venture across our property for food. I have food plots on our property for late season, if we wouldn't do this by November there are no deer to hunt they all move to the river bottoms and agriculture 5 miles to the south (winter grounds). We are a few years into a deer bedding program (man made) and have cleared out 25 acres for more crop and some CRP. We have tons of birds now and rabbits are every where. The deer are hit and miss for using our property for bedding, but we saw quite a few fawns here this spring and more does than usual. We now also have the only 2 acre pond full of water for a few square miles. From May (end of turkey season) till to October 1st (opening bow) we dont go on to our property. This year it's corn, going to be boring year. . . .

@@danelobe2524 Since you know what works for the area why wouldn't you implement it on the property you have to make the hunting more consistent?
