Great review! What weight did you typically carry with it?
@go2outdoors
@go2outdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Typically between 35 and 45 pounds at a time. It varied with food weight and how much camera/electronic gear I had with me at any given time.

Many thanks for the presentation! I bought the backpack too! For my things in winter top and underquilt with extra volume, hammock etc. is the size with 70 L. also perfect for a real photo equipment! Thanks again, with many greetings from Berlin.

I picked those up from Zpacks. So much better than trying to fiddle with pockets behind your hips... zpacks.com/products/water-bottle-sleeve

I have the Junction 4400, big for day hikes. I fly to Utah/Nevada/Arizona Fir backpack trips I use every bit. I stuff it and check it on the plane.

that material sounds SO LOUD! i wonder if the black version is just as loud? what about in colder weather? louder weaker rip tear break?
@go2outdoors

I haven't had any durability issues in either really hot or really cold weather. The sound really isn't an issue once everything is packed tight and secured... but both colors are just as crinkly and loud when they're emptied out for the night.

As far as I know one can just roll down pack if you are not using the space would be like carrying a 3400
@go2outdoors
@go2outdoors 2 жыл бұрын
That's correct. You can roll it down as far as the spot where the shoulder straps are attached. Even rolled down, I've noticed that the 4400 seems to carry a little better than my 3400s. It's a tad wider, and the exterior pockets are bigger. Minor differences, but I can feel them.

I use a 20 degree Enlightened Equipment Revelation quilt in the Long/Wide size. It's plenty for me wrap around completely when it's cold, and having the ability to unzip completely so that I can throw a leg out on warmer nights is a big plus.

Just curious, what osprey pack were you going with before you went with this? I ended up going with the windrider 4400 and was using an osprey archeon 70 and that was heavy as shit 😂

How does it feel without any load lifters
@go2outdoors
@go2outdoors 2 жыл бұрын
I haven't found a problem with how it carries heavier loads without them, but they would be a welcome addition to the pack, just to keep the weight balance a little farther forward while I'm climbing steeper sections. It's a personal preference for most folks.
