Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

When I was a in the 5th grade in Texas we were taught about the Flag and how it is to be treated. One evening after the final flag class I asked my stepdad why he had not burnt that old dirty stained flag he keeps in a frame ín their bedroom? " Well that's a very special flag. The stains, that's my sweat, the dark areas, that's my blood." He said. He joined the Corps on December 8th 1941 and fought from Guadalcanal to Okinawa. He received 3 Purple Hearts along with 2 stays in hospitals, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star. He was given that poorly made flag by an islander from a village his patrol drove the Japanese occupiers out of. As they did, the villagers came out to thank them. A village elder gave that flag to my dad, telling him he made it as a symbol of hope for his people. He knew WE would return. My dad knew the chances that man took, had the flag been found the man and his family would have been killed. It meant so much to my dad that he kept it in his left breast pocket through the rest of the war.

Not being a farmer myself..... Over the years of watching not only your channel Zac, but also channels like the welkers......you cannot help but feel a deep appreciation for how hard farmers must work.....simply to provide the produce, whether it’s meat or vegetable, it all leads to keeping the nation going. I guess you can say that farmers are at the heart of the nation’s economy and industry :-).

when most people think of farming they picture tending to a small garden or collecting an egg or two from some chickens they keep in their yard, a relaxing hobby similar to assembling models, something fun to do to feel a sense of accomplishment with no actual risks involved, something kept in the back of your mind. actual farming to earn a living or to truly "live off the land" is a full time job with endless overtime that not only requires the investment of your time but your money, and if you fail to put in the required effort, or God and mother nature decide to test your abilities with off luck and bad weather, you and your family/communities survival is at stake. ive seen a lot of clickbait type of junk trying to glamorize and simplify the idea of "sustainable living" as if people are actually capable of sustaining a household of four on half and acre of land, trying to grow multiple crops and raise animals... its hilarious the naivety of the average joe, and its why the channels name "millennial farmer" is such a catchy and amusing choice of words.

I’ve had the same problem, over handling the fertilizer and augers really grind it up and powder it bad, had it so bad one year that the sulfur was mixing with the humidity in the air and building up in the distribution towers on the plow and plugging there, went to conveyors and direct loads when handling and transporting the fertilizer and that made a world of difference.
