The Icelandic alphabet - Íslenska stafrófið.
No prior knowledge of Icelandic required.
If you want to find a newer/better version of the "alphabet song" just google: "Stafrófsvísa"
Extra info:
"Stafur" means a Letter
"Róf" means a spectrum or a range
"Stafróf" thus literally means a ´spectrum of letters´ or ´range of letters´

I'm sorry if I missed it, but in what video did you explain the pattern in which æ in ætli sounds breathy?
@letslearnicelandic405
@letslearnicelandic405 2 жыл бұрын
Hmm... I don't think I explained this specifically... But I came closest in Ep.04 when I talked about T... Basically T and K are your biggest "breath"-offenders (and then P)... Before and/or after those letters you usually always use quite a bit of breath. So the Æ is not the cause - only the victim :) I am sure you will see it more clearly as we talk/listen more to Icelandic!

Is L mostly Pronunced like a lateral fricative like The welsh Letter LL
@letslearnicelandic405

Short answer: Sometimes it is, but not always so it is more complicated than that. Long answer: See my EP.06, there I try to explain this the best I can. Hope this helps!

Z is the only letter of the latin alphabet to be completely obsolete in icelandic
@letslearnicelandic405
@letslearnicelandic405 Жыл бұрын
Yes, obsolete in the sense that it was once used, and we don't use it anymore, but letters like w and c are also not used in Icelandic (apart from some names with foreign origin).
