Published in 1928 in the Royal Magazine in the UK and Detective Story Magazine in the US. In the US the story had the title The Solving Six and the Evil Hour. It was included in the collection The Thirteen Problems in 1932, Miss Marple's first short story collection.

I don't hear any background sounds, but I don't use headphones so maybe that's only when it can be heard It's lovely to hear these short stories and Juliet Stevenson is a perfect narrator. Thank you😊

Loved this short story. I listen with headphones, but I can concentrate on Juliet Stevenson's voice and mostly ignore the music. I must say that the music accompanying this story is a lot better than in some of the earlier productions, both in content and volume, so I imagine that listeners' comments have been noted!

I love the channel and Juliet Stevenson is brilliant. But, honestly, the background noise, I can’t call it music, is enough to make me turn it off frequently.

I wonder why this KZfaqr keeps putting this dreary music on in the background? I’ve tried so many from this channel, and every single one has the same comments from listeners - WHY THE MUSIC? and MUSIC IS OFFPUTTING. But still this channel keeps doing it. It’s so annoying, I’m going to turn off yet another one and not come back! Seems a shame, because obviously making the effort to put up these recordings is all in vain, if a large portion of people don’t like it. 😢
