Exploring the Beautiful Exuma Cays, Rachel's Bubble Bath, and Rocky Dundas Caves of the Bahamas. We're thrilled to share our experience with you of the amazing Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park where we swam in Rachel's Bubble Bath and snorkeled the Rocky Dundas Caves. We've never been so close with sharks before. They're at the docks, by the reefs, and circling our boat. Even Captain Kaja took notice. She would run from side-to-side on the boat as they passed under it. WOW... what an amazing experience the islands in the Exuma Cays have been. Not just the sharks but also the people and the places that we visited.
Black Point Settlement is probably our favorite anchorage and town in the Bahamas. A three-day party, was just the beginning. The beach was ours when we were there, no other people to be seen. Kaja ran the beach and swam after us wherever we went. We left the beach in search of a famous blow hole on the other side of the island. We found it and more incredible scenery as far as we could see. Our next stop was Bitter Guana Cay.
Bitter Guana Cay is a deserted island about midway between Staniel Cay and Black Point Settlement. No people live there but it is populated by giant iguana. They are everywhere and they are used to people. We saw several tour boats arriving at the beach to feed them. We also got in on the act with a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, they loved them. We were the only boat anchored off Bitter Guana Cay while we were there, truly wonderful.
Lastly, we sailed to Compass Cay and Rachel's Bubble Bath. We snorkeled here with tropical fish and mana rays and tried to hold our own against the current responsible for the bubbles. Amazing!
