What an incredible experience Ilha Grande was. We are DYING to get back already and that's with nonstop rain, so you can imagine just how great this island is! See you in the next video where we explore Paraty, which is was built by the Portuguese back in the 1600s.

Just a small correction, the Amazon is way far from this island, around 2800km considering Rio- Manaus (this is a bigger distance than travelling from Rome to Oslo ). This is the Atlantic jungle, a completely different environment, nothing to do with the Amazon, different species, climate, biome and so on. Glad to see you've enjoyed the island! Such a fun video :)

Many foreigners don't know this but Brazil have two different rainforests called the Atlantic rainforest and the Amazon and Ilha Grande is located in the Atlantic rainforest which is in the southeast of Brazil.

This is just about as inspiring as a travel proposal can be. The reason I became a travel blogger was because I never stopped dreaming. Excerpts about traveling like this one help us to remember how travel makes us humble and life experiences are more important than physical “things.” The older I get, the more I value experiences over things. This video made my heart so sore in the sense that i long to go back to Brazil. Had very similar experiences in both Ilha Grande and a few islands close to Salvador in Bahia…..also brings back memories of my time on various islands in Thailand…can’t wait to travel again…keep up the amazing videos guys….job well done 👍🏻

Só um fato. Na Ilha Grande não tem floresta amazônica. Lá a vegetação é de mata atlântica. Amazônia está a alguns milhares de km de distância.

Júnior, a amazônia tem locais belíssimos, tive a sorte de conhecer pessoalmente, assim como a mata atlântica. A floresta amazônica tem uma vegetação mais impressionante no porte, é mais imponente. Porém é bem mais fechada nas copas. A pouca luminosidade no solo deixa os primeiros estratos mais uniformes, em termos vegetais que a mata atlântica. Plantas como orquídeas, bromélias e árvores de menor porte são mais abundantes na mata atlântica. Não coloquei que a mata atlântica é mais ou menos importante, só que são diferentes. Quanto a pontos de visita, cavernas e cachoeiras, a coisa engrossa. Nesse ponto, o cerrado, a caatinga, os pampas e o Pantanal também entram na briga.

Just a small correction. The predominant vegetation of Ilha Grande is Atlantic Forest, it has no relationship with the Amazon Forest, as was said in the video.

Ilha Grande ! Once you be there, you never forget anymore ! My favourite place in Rio. I just love the beaches, the trails, everything ! You can find many options, since boats, food, acomodations... and it is a beautiful, amazing place !

I'm glad you guy enjoyed your time in Brazil .I was also not so lucky about the weather. When I've been there it rained a lot. It's indeed a rainy place, otherwise such luxuriant vegetation wouldn't be possible. So it does has its advantages. I just could enjoy one day of sun and that was in Lopes Mendes. Amazing beach indeed. I want to go back to explore the other islands and beaches, like Praia do Dentista and Cataguazes Island, in Angra bay.

Nice video😌👍 but only one correction : Ilha grande is at least 2000 kilometers away from the Amazon Forest. It''s what is left from the Atlantic Forest ( which used to compound the litoral of Brazil in 1500. It's a very different bio-system. ) But Nice video😊😊👍

Welcome to Brazil! A Correction: It's not the Amazon Forest, it's the Atlantic Forest. The vegetation and animals are totally different between these two forests.

Great video! i am enjoying a lot to follow you guys here in my country! Just a small detail, but in the beginning of the video, you said that Ilha Grande is a true Amazona jungle. Actually, in the island, the right biome is the Mata Atlântica! The amazon one is only in the north of Brazil

Look, Brazil is being affected by a phenomenon called La nina, which makes the whole country rainy EXCEPT the southern region which is quite the opposite. It's dry and warm there. You should definitely take advantadge of that and explore southern Brazil. If you want more of a beach vibe, Florianópolis and Balneário Camboriú it's for you

Essa ilha é uma maravilha e tem um natureza ainda muito preservada. Talvez porque a visitação seja limitada, não são permitidos carros e nem todas as pousadas possuem internet. Dessa forma se pode curtir e interagir mais com a natureza, genuína, como ela realmente é.

Great edition, but ilha grande it's not in the amazonian habitat. We called the "Atlantic" forest, because it's spread throughout the coast, can be around mountains (Amazon region it's very plain), can be more foggy and have different species.

Belo vídeo! Não é uma floresta amazônica, mas sim, uma floresta atlântica. Tão rica ou mais que a amazônica em biodiversidade. 1 hectar de floresta atlântica virgem tem uma diversidade maior que a europa inteira.

A Ilha Grande deve ser lindíssima, eu ainda não tive a oportunidade de conhecer, mas posso dizer que temos uma Ilha aqui em São Paulo, tão linda quanto, a Ilhabela. É bem menor do que a Ilha Grande, mas a atmosfera se parece muito. Abraços!
