My friend of 60 years just lost his battle with ALS. To witness the devastation this horrible disease levies on its’ victims their families and loved ones is beyond surreal Lou Gehrig epitomized class, courage, and integrity. My heart breaks for ALL people and their loved ones who have this s most terrible of cards dealt to them in this life. I hope and pray a cure is one day found for this most insidious affliction. I love you Jay and know in my heart you are now at peace and comfort.

My favorite sports Legend ever that I didnt witness play. He is some how underrated and if his career didn't sadly get cut short he would have had a very realistic shot at being the all time RBI and runs leader and 3,000 plus hits and defiantely the 500 home run club. For his whole career hit .317 with two outs and RISP and. 349 in late and close games. Rest in peace Lou Gehrig.

Everyone who knows Baseball knows Cal Ripken passed his 2,130 consecutive game streak but man, I cant see how anyone could at times without missing a game, really remarkable, and the 23 career Grand Slams and the batting average - all for a guy who was worth much more in dollars and cents than he was ever paid. I guess his true value to humanity and the game of Baseball are the memories he left behind for future generations to look up on youtube.
