When we were kids - we were simpler, didn't think too much and just wanted to have fun. When we became adults - we focused on our "individuality" alot! So, adult friendships are based on mutual respect of individualities. People change and evolve as they age as well, and understanding and persevering with that is also critical. Now I'm in my 40s - and I feel that "Empathy" is playing a strong role in my relationships and friendships. I found that life is far from ideal when it comes to my relationships/friendships - and perseverance of the empathetic spirit will determine how long those relationships/friendships go on for. I feel that empathy is lacking in our Indian society, and people feel as if they are the only ones with problems - and are therefore trapped in their mental illusions. When they break those illusions and images - they'll open up their lives to more relationships/friendships.

And what happens when we open up and then loose the respect? When our vulnerabilities are a bit more than others and it is risk that we take which isn't appreciated?
