Slayer has been one of the MOST influential bands in the entire metal landscape. While they're a thrash metal band, the ripple effect they've had on so many death metal, black metal and extreme metal bands throughout the decades is incredible and it cannot be overstated how incredible they've been for the scene, and why they stick out like a sore thumb all the while. With their recent reunion, I wanted to go into the importance of Slayer as a band and their impact!!!!!!!

I've wanted to dive into background and influence of Slayer as a project and after being asked to talk about Slayer for some time, I thought it would be great to go into their influence on extreme metal as a whole and why they're one of the MOST important bands for all of metal?! What are your opinions of Slayer and their reunion, though?! Be sure to let me know down below!!!!!!! But for now, cheers, rock on, stay heavy and have yourselves a fantastic rest of your day or night, depending on when you see this!!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Great video, Tempest. Reign In Blood is definitely on my top ten best metal albums ever. Every song is solid. You mentioned some of the German 80s bands. It'd be cool to see a video of their contributions to Metal. Just by coincidence, most of my favorite metal bands are German. Hope ur well. 🤘🥸🤘

I will admit I never got into Slayer, not sure why as I enjoyed Motorhead and Megadeth, and it was only two years later I bought Overkill's Years of Decay. Great video though.

Fucking Slayer! I think they're really great, at least in the 80s. they really tailed off after Seasons. then they just went too groovy for me (I also hate Pantera) the influence Slayer has on thrash obviously, but also death metal and black metal, is undoubtedly there. then they kind of had a renaissance in the 00s with God Hates Us All all the way through Repentless. but I don't really care for the reunion, and especially not for the new Kerry King album

For me Slayer ended after Divine Intervention. I still play the arse out of reign in blood and seasons in the abyss

SLAYER removed high theatrics/theatre drama from metal….just machine like brutality and even better solos to match an alien experience….big 4? None can match what SLAYER brought….oh let’s not forget they are the all time masters of the metal breakdown…..their hearts were far more punk than boring ass typical metal….

Tbh I never really liked Slayer and didn't get the appeal. I basically don't think they're very good. However, even if I never got them or why they were and still are so influential I'm glad they are. There are so many great metal bands who cite Slayer as one of their biggest or even their primary influence, and many have become hugely influential in their own right. Basically without them metal would not have evolved the way it did.

Personally, Slayer is not my thing… still would listen to them over Motley Crue.
