► Every year millions of people throughout the world travel to national parks and other wilderness areas. Some of these places may be the home to a hidden, sinister force lurking behind the scenes. This force seems hungry to lure people in and make sure they never return. Whatever this force is has also been known to take people from other remote areas such as farmlands.
What is surprising to me is just how many people seem to step off the face of the Earth without an explanation.
Estimates currently state that over 1,600 people, and possible many times that number have gone missing on public lands under bizarre circumstances that defy easy explanation.
The search efforts are massive and span an incredibly large area. In some cases over 1000 people are out searching for the missing on foot, while utilizing the skills of airborne infantry divisions of the United States army, sniffer dogs and other specialists often come out baffled by the incident they’re helping to solve.
Other times you’ll have a situation where an individual is not even aware that they have even been missing, but later will come to realize that they were not where they thought they were at the time.

Ridiculous, Lori - IF everyone knew, and believed THE TRUTH, they would STAY OUT OF THE NATIONAL FORESTS - especially the "cluster areas". "Mass panic"? These cases ARE ALL documented in newspapers and within the families whose beloved family members have vanished. Since NOTHING has worked, people shouldn't panic - they should STAY OUT. The bean counters within the federal government keep track of items far less important than cars. They track things like toilet paper, photocopier paper and nametags. Going through anything too quickly raises concerns somewhere at some level because a memo gets generated and sent to the supervisors who carry the message forward (downward) to every employee that the use of item x needs to be minimized for budget concerns. Been there. Seen and done that. Declined the free t-shirt. ;)~

Here in Finland we call those cases as "metsänpeitto" (= cover of woods). It means you supposedly get lost in the woods. The experiencer/lost person feels like time has stopped. No birds singing, no wind, no sounds at all except the voice from the experiencer. The other people looking for this person may walk by him but cannot see him. They are all kind of staying in the same area, but the experiencer seems to be like in another dimension, stuck in time. Usually "metsänpeitto" goes off a few days later and the experiencer can return home.

I remember doing research into the Dennis Martin case. If it's the same case I'm remembering, There were locals who said he was taken by "The Mountain Men." A real sort of deranged, cannibalistic, hillbilly men who lived entirely outside of modern society. They lived their entire lives secluded from the world we know. The Mountain Man was described as being very tall and wearing an animal pelt (which could give the wrong impression by sight that this was Big Foot) I'm not sure if it's the same case but I do remember locals from the area talking about it in the forums. It seemed like something that was known but not discussed. Very fucked up and very creepy stuff going on there..

So I recently found your channel and started watching a lot of your videos, to the point I should probably go outside.. However, seeing so many people who have come forward with reports of their own strange encounters.. I feel I can come forward with mine and not feel so self conscious.. Two weeks ago I went camping with my two friends and boyfriend in the Spanish Peak's Wilderness area, as a last chance to spend time with each other before we separated for the holidays, as afterwards our two friends would be going away to schooling. We planned to be out there for 4 days, and to leave on the morning of what would be our 5th day. On the second day of our trip it got bitterly cold, colder than any of us thought it would even with multiple coats and layers of all items on it was still biting into our bones. We took down our tents and decided to pack things into the car to just go home and spend the rest of our time in a hotel or something. However the car wouldn't start due to the cold. We debated if it would be wise for us to split up and send two of us for help but we couldn't come to an agreement, and so we chose to sleep on it for one last night. We couldn't get the car to work so we were forced to endure the cold from inside the car, we piled as close as we could and did our best to keep warm. Around what I feel was 1 or 2 am, although I can't be sure as the clock in the car was off and my phone was long dead. I thought I heard something moving around outside the car, I tried to tell myself it was just wildlife or my imagination. However the sounds were getting louder and more frequent by the minute. I finally could take it no longer and poked my head up to look out the car window. Within the dark outside the car I thought I could see something moving, but it was too dark to be sure. Any efforts to wake the others were in vain as they didn't budge, which now that I think on it, was odd since my boyfriend at the very least was not a heavy sleeper and normally wakes very easily. Realizing I was on my own, i poked my head up again but this time I really wish I hadn't, as no more than two feet from the car door was a crouched figure. From what i could make out, it was gaunt and thin, hunched over something it was holding and fiddling with it. I could not make out much more detail at that point. I kept as quiet as i could for fear it was some sort of malnourished animal that might attack the window or car and damage it more. After a few moments, that felt like hours, one of our friends shifted in the back and jostled the car, which must have startled the creature. It turned and looked right at me, it's eyes were a glowing yellow color and it's face looked as gaunt as the rest of it. It just started at me for a long moment, as if we were locked in a strange staring contest. After another minute I lost the fight and blinked, when I opened my eyes again, in less than a second the creature was against my window staring me down. I surely would have wet myself if I wasn't so frozen. It kept staring at me. I could hear it breathing heavily against my window, like a rasping sound. The kind of sound you expect to hear from a smoker that's smoked a pack every day for 70 years. I felt the overwhelming urge to open the door. Without my knowing I suddenly spotted my hand reaching for the door handle against my will. To the point I had to grab my own arm and restrain myself to make sure I did not do such a thing. I remember rolling over to try and wake up the others again, and finally they rose. I turned back to the window but the creature was gone. I explained to them what I had seen, what had happened, and every detail I could recall on the spot. They didn't believe me and I was not about to open the car door and go out to find the proof to show them. We agreed to search for evidence in the morning and they went back to sleep. I laid awake for hours, too afraid to go back to sleep, untill the sun rose up and the others woke up on their own. Once everyone had woken up and was moving about, we got out of the car and I looked around for foot prints, or anything to prove what I had seen, or to ensure to myself that I was not going crazy, or dreaming last night. There were no footprints, no markings, nothing. I endured much teasing and taunting from the others as we finished our morning routines. Trying the car this time, it started up without a problem to our surprise! We quickly drove out of there, and I tried to push the events from my mind, to no avail. We dropped our friends off and drove home, and later that evening were unpacking the car. The last thing to take down was the folded and tied down tent atop the car. When pulling it down, something fell out of it onto the garage floor. Picking it up I realized it was a tin can with a pull top, the kind we had bought to take to the campsite. It was covered in teeth marks, as if a dog had gotten a hold of it and chewed it to death.. but it was a metal can. I showed it to my boyfriend who thought a wild animal had gotten a hold of it and went back in the house, only giving me a look like I was insane. To this day, no one believes what I saw in those woods that night. I can't explain who or what it was, or why it wanted me to open that car door.. But i'm glad I didn't and I won't be going back for a round two of that staring contest any time soon.

There are several peoples that have similar encounters. You're not insane. You kept your mind intact and could verbalize (if you couldn't, you might be able to draw it, or text, etc.). That you kept your will means you won. Welcome to the battle royale. I have had a few very different experiences, & they appeared very different. I mean not to keep saying very different, but that's what they are. Soo Strange. They come in all shapes and sizes and forms, so it seems. I would guess they deal with fears. Please keep others away (if you will) as they seem to want hosts and victims. I would call what you saw an Unclean Spirit.

I can't believe I read all of that but I believe you as I've had a few encounters myself with "otherworldly beings". The one that scarred me the most happened when I was about 14. My room and my sisters rooms were right next to eachother, hers was at the end of the hallway and mine was at the end of the hallway and to the right. There was a motion sensor light right outside of my window. The motion sensor usually stays on for a few minutes and then goes back off but this time was different. One night the motion sensor light came on when I was trying to go to sleep so I opened my eyes and looked at the little 1 inch gap in my window that I always looked at when the motion sensor goes off. I saw a dark figure walk past and the light didn't go off for a few minutes and I just kept staring at that gap since I saw a figure, I thought it was a neighbor playing a joke or somebody trying to steal stuff. Eventually the figure walks back the way it came and it got to the end of my window and I saw it again, I feel as if it could feel my fear and it could tell I was looking at it because as soon as it got to that crack it stopped dead in its tracks turned and looked me dead in the eyes. It had yellow eyes shaped like a cat's eyes and stood about 7 feet tall. We had a staring contest for what felt like 30 seconds as I was contemplating what to do but I know in reality it was only about 2-3 seconds. I was going to run and wake up my step dad who was upstairs above my room but my sister no longer lived with us and the blinds for the window to her room were wide open and so was her door, I was so scared to see the full figure of the creature and to risk my life running down that hallway to go upstairs so I put my blanket over my head and waited for a few minutes, when I finally took the blanket off my face the motion sensor light was off and I could not see the creature. This experience mentally scarred me for life and I never go to the woods or go out to do things late at night anymore as these encounters usually happen after midnight. I call this encounter my werewolf encounter because of the way it had yellow glowing eyes like a cats and because of it being taller than a man. I don't recall if it was hairy or not all I remember was seeing those eyes... Another time one night we heard shit getting thrown around outside in the back yard and in the morning our dog looked like he was having trouble breathing and didn't want to move and all sorts of shit was thrown around and emptied on the back porch, our parents got pissed off at us because they thought we made the huge mess and forced us to clean it all up. I want to thank you for sharing your story as it's really hard to have to relive these experiences by typing them out for others to see, it brings tears to my eyes every time I relive the werewolf encounter. And nobody will ever believe us besides other people who have had encounters themselves... It really makes you feel like a lunatic when nobody believes your story because it sounds so outlandish but when you lived it you know it's real. Be safe.

I (Kylie) had an experience similar to the 411 cases that is still a traumatizing point for me. I am autistic, and i have noticed a lot of the stories involve others who have learning disabilities. I remember being at my friends house. It was winter. Lots of snow. I was 28 at the time. It was just the two of us and her toddler son. I suddenly felt panicked like someone important was waiting for me as though i had missed an appointment. This was at 10pm. Nothing in my small town of Montrose was open. The next thing i remember was like i startled awake by police lights at a checkpoint on Cerro Summit. Three hours had passed and i was 15 miles from home. One of my "autistic flaws" is that i have a photographic memory when it comes to art but i cannot drive well and i can only drive to the corner store or back. My family drives me to other places. I had no idea where i was but for the "Cerro Summit" sign in my headlights. I called my sister on my cellphone in a panic. She stayed with me and turn by turn got me to her back in town. When i got out of the car she demanded to know where my shoes were. We searched the whole car. I honestly didnt even realize my shoes were gone. My friend later told me that i suddenly stopped talking and said "i have to go" in a tone that scared her. I just walked out like i was in a trance. She said she looked at the clock and it had stopped moving. She told me it frightened her and she soon stopped speaking to me after the incident. I guess she didnt realize it was way more traumatic for me than her. Im honestly scared to think where i would have ended up if the trance hadnt been broken by the lights and sirens. Since then, my sister and i joke awkwardly about "dont end up on unsolved mysteries!" everytime i leave the house cuz we have no idea what happened. I live in Montrose Colorado only a few miles from the Black Canyon. I for some reason discarded my shoes and went for the closest highest rocky ground. My roommate told me the next day he felt crazed and paranoid that night and kept hearing weird growls and howls around our house during the hours i was gone. I dont know what any of that means or if they are related. I am only stating the facts i remember and what was told to me by those around me during this time.

I’ve been binge watching this channel for DAYS. Love it 😩…It sucks that there are KZfaqrs out there who talk bad about or suggest that Dave Pauline’s is a bad guy. To each their own, but he’s done so much to shine a light on these phenomena that are taking people, and putting these missing people in the public eye to be remembered and made aware of a threat that’s out there at all times.

Who talks about him that way? I've been following the missing 411 cases for quite some time and various related channels and forums. I've never once heard anything negative spoken about David Paulides, quite the contrary, the guy gets mad respect and gratitude for his work. In fact, your statement is the first I've ever seen that even states anything remotely negative about how he's viewed.

I've camped in Devil's Head and dug in Topaz Point. There are some very unstable ground conditions there. Once, a friend was digging and slid down a slight hill and was covered up to his waist in loose rock and dirt and we had to dig him out. Another time, a hiker was on a high dirt road and fell when the ground went out underneath him and was nearly covered up to his chest. I found him while I was looking for firewood and I had to go back for ropes to pull him out because he was about 25 feet down the sheer drop. I know the distance because of the length of my ropes. People underestimate the very common dangers in the wild, and often the ability of searchers and dogs are overestimated. I'm tribal, and I have certain beliefs about these areas, but the indisputable truth about it is: people underestimate nature and overestimate themselves. The fact they have so much faith in searchers and dogs proves that. Dogs aren't even fully capable in laboratory settings, not to mention when they have to differentiate from smells in the wild. Even I, being familiar with the area, would have missed the hiker had he been covered by one more foot of debris. And then he would have been exposed in the next rain, and they would have said it was an area already searched. The wild isn't for people who think humanity has mastered it. That's how people go missing, and overconfidence makes us wonder why they couldn't be found.

My late father career Army and Special Forces had just come back from his 4th tour in Vietnam in 1969 a few weeks prior to the Martin case, and was deployed with his unit in the search. I was in the first grade and remember dads homecoming. He said they were armed and were there to track the boy but so many people searching had already destroyed any tracks by the time the SF troops had arrived. He never mentioned any National Guard troops. He wouldnt say why they were armed, except that they were armed with their M-16s and side arms, "just in case". Not sure what "Heavily armed" would mean though a full automatic rifle shooting at you could seem heavy if your on the receiving end of it. I think my dads unit knew something and were armed for a search and destroy mission, a possibly armed kidnapper or a rogue very aggressive Bigfoot would be my guess.

I can see why people like to talk about the Denis Martin case. With what's public about it, it sounds like there's a group of violent wild people out there. A park servicemen once got attacked when searching the backcountry, so when this case came around they brought in the Green Berets? FBI hides that there was a potential witness and a park escort helping the family? No one's being direct with the father. Twelve other disappearances in the area (at the time of a particular radio segment of David Paulides saying these things) overseen by the same FBI agent who committed suicide. That's one convoluted mystery that makes me sympathize with government cynics and conspiracy theorists. That, and I think there was a Minnesota case where the local police switched out the evidence because they tried to sniff for a small boy using a pair of shorts but when the father looked at the shorts they were fit for a grown man. Not exactly something you can overlook.

Bring them into light. Cameras take a picture and flash a light. They don't like it. Don't walk through any portal. Watch Rick n Morty. It's a tech not understood by many people. Active camo exists, both for personal and for military vehicles. Find the truths of the Philadelphia Experiment. Hutchinson Effect. They may allow you to understand a certain card of the tarot, I think it's 16. Pictures dispell and shed light on problems. Edit: I noticed "camp" was texted (thanks, but no thanks to that predictive text typo, by predictive text!) "Camp" has been changed back to: Camo- as in Active Camo Exists for both personal and vehicles. Be careful like there are invisible enemies around! Whether Enemies or not, I don't know. @@brianfreeman9421 I am fascinated by your response! I've read/studied Tarot for nearly 30 yrs now. Major Arcana 16 is the Tower. Not a pretty or pleasant card. When it appears in readings, depending upon its position, it often portends sudden, calamitous change in the life of the person for whom the reading is being done. It depicts a tower being struck by lightning with the inhabitants being flung out of said tower & falling one would presume to their deaths. For ppl to go suddenly missing never to be found again or if found, found dead, is indeed an incident described in The Tower. My childhood home is in one of the grassland countrysides of Colorado. The property, surrounded by neighbors with livestock, is directly under a DIA flight path, so there are lots of planes flying over at all times--with the occasional helicopter or jet as well. I remember that, if I sat just right, my headphones could pick up the radio frequency used by the pilots. There was one distinct occasion when I was younger that I can recall that was really strange. I know what aircraft sounds/looks like because I grew up hearing/seeing them 24/7, so I know what I saw was unusual. Part of the memory is a little muddled but here we go anyways. It was a warm summer night, one without the usual Coloradan breeze. I had my best friend over for a sleepover and we were bored out of our minds, so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and sit on the trampoline in the backyard. It was completely silent and serene. As you know, the countryside has a great view of the stars because there isn't any light pollution, so on a clear night like that the sky was really spectacular. So there we were, chilling out and stargazing, when my friend noticed something strange: one of the stars was moving. She pointed out what looked like a tiny light that was zipping up and down, left and right, going wherever it pleased--without any sound whatsoever. Over the next few minutes more of them appeared, until there were 4 or 5 little lights zooming around the night sky, stopping and accelerating at will. We watched this weird phenomena for a few more minutes, speculating here and there about what they might be. At some point we stopped talking altogether, which is when things got weirder. I remember seeing a bright flash, like my vision was filled with white for a split second. I wasn't the only one who witnessed this, since my friend experienced it too. It freaked her out so much that she said she was scared and went inside, leaving me alone on the trampoline. This is where things get a little jumbled. I have this memory of an enormous, triangular object hovering over the property. It looked metallic because my dim back porch light reflected off its shape. I remember it just kind of sitting there without a sound, casting not even the slightest shadow. I don't recall it having ever arrived or departed. I don't know if I vividly imagined it or actually saw it since, although the memory is strong, there's a veil of uncertainty cast over it, like I'm trying to remember an event I wasn't completely paying attention to. The last thing I remember from that night is walking back into my house maybe 5-10 minutes after my friend had left.

The lights flew together in a triangular formation, and blasted off in a blink. I never, ever believed in UFOs before that experience. It pretty much shattered my whole worldview at the time, as I was a hardcore skeptic who used to go to air shows and the like as a child (hail science, am I right?). Bonus points for pronouncing "Paulides" correctly. Other than George's Noory and Knapp on C2C, most of the radio interviewers don't get it right. There are dozens of cases which really stand out, but Charles McCullar, Carl Landers and Jelani Brinson are three that I could think of and find on google based on keynotes that I remember about the cases. Of what was written about the Carl Landers case: _"The search effort was headed by a man named Grizz Adams and during an interview with David Paulides he said "In 35 years I've never had this happen to me…we were all over that mountain, he was not on the mountain…we brought canines in, they didn't pick him up…we flew around it, we dropped guys at the summit, they came down all sides, they couldn't find him…they talked to people who were on the mountain, they didn't see him…there's snow around the path where he was, and nobody went outside the path…" When Paulides asked Grizz Adams what he thought happened to Carl Landers on the mountain, he replied: "…that's the million dollar question, he either went up, or in-but he's not on it."._

My thoughts are this animal or whatever it is, brushes against the plants and scrubs, you won't see it coming. It is moving with the wind. Love your videos man! Just that you make your own original content. Most people that are fans of the Missing 411 topic, know that there is a lot of recycled David Paulides videos on KZfaq. Then they are titled as New. Even related videos can sometimes seem like the same exact video over and over with no fresh take to it. That's why I like your content because even if it's a known story, you give it a fresh update. Also you treat it like the serious subject it is and respect the victims and their cases.

robdizzle2006 I’m all for a fresh perspective, but the Dennis Martin disappearance did not happen exactly as this narrator stated. I’ve heard David Paulides recount Dennis Martin’s case several times, and according to him, the children were not planning to jump out at the adults, so I’m wondering where the narrator got the information he’s telling. David Paulides never provided any information about what, if any, details were provided by the other kids.

you left out a very VERY important detail about the Dennis Martin case, the kid that seen the "man" with something on its shoulder, THE KID AND DAD THOUGHT THIS "MAN" AT FIRST LOOKED LIKE A BEAR OR AN EXTREMELY HAIRY AND VERY LARGE MAN, YET THEY QUICKLY REALIZED IT WAS NO BEAR, and they heard horrific screams that no man could make, SEEMS LIKE THAT WOULD OF BEEN AN IMPORTANT DETAIL TO INCLUDE...!! The Key family statement, go read it, it'll give you a better grasp at what may have taken Dennis Martin

Oh my God ! When I was a kid , I had frequent dreams of a vibrational energy entering my room. The vibration was strange, being able to enter every part of me . I felt it in my mouth, lungs , eyes, everywhere. This dream felt so real and happened every single night for years. It stopped after I left the Foster home I had lived in for 7 years. And only happened 1 more time that I can remember after I had gotten married. Strange.

I can’t help but wonder if we just underestimate the shear scale of land. It wouldn’t be hard to stray, get lost and ultimately pass on an inconspicuous spot.. parks hiding the number of cases could just be for publicity reasons. Kids surviving for longer or travelling further than expected could be easily explained by adrenaline, the body is capable of superhuman feats under incredible stress. Scientifically, it’s impossible to test these incredible responses due to ethics, so personal accounts and records is the best we have. However, what gives me interest is the accounts of “friendly bears” and I wonder if female bears show a maternal response to young children. Many mammals do and not just humans but other species too. Even lionesses have been seen taking care of Wildebeast calves. I by no means think these are definitively the answers but it’s just a thought.. However, the one detail I am always concerned about is the involvement of military operations...this strikes me as very suspicious and gives me chills every time.

David Paulides tells the Martin story a bit differently. I wonder which version is the correct one. I can only assume David's because he's become friendly with Dennis' father but who knows. Either way... it's incredibly sad and perplexing.

I was in law enforcement for 20 years and never trusted lie detectors because one of the first job interviews I went to (after high school), I had to take a polygraph test. The polygrapher kept saying that I was lying about not taking illegal drugs (this was 1982). I have never done illegal drugs. We went through that test 3 times and he kept saying I was lying. I haven't trusted them since. I guess he just wanted me to admit to doing drugs, I don't know. I didn't get the job. It was a parts delivery driver for Atlanta Freightliner in Forest Park, GA. Thing is, couple of years later, my brother got a job in the parts department there and that bastard has done just about every drug under the sun. Guess he answered "Yes" when the polygrapher asked if he did drugs. As long as you weren't lying, you got the job. Ain't that some shit?

17:20 they weren't Green Berret's. A place I worked at used to get regular visits from U.S. Marshall's 'checking' train cars for contraband, turns out it wasn't the U.S. Marshall's it was organized crime picking up the drugs. You would be surprised what a well funded and well organized group can get away with.

I love your stuff and I'm a big fan of Paulides. Interestingly, I ran across him while listening to a horror/true scary stories narrator's channel with a focus on scary search and rescue stories, which then intrigued me and so I went on to look up the links and listened to a lot of David's stuff. I keep trying to get our local library to order the books, but they seldom follow my suggestions. Anyway, having nothing to do with the subject, I was curious where you hail from? I love the accent.

@@MissingVoidTV Thank you for telling me! I love any English accent ever since I was a wee lass. Also since reading books where the accents are a big point, like the infamous "Lady Chatterley's Lover" where the gamekeeper's accent is a big deal. I read it as a teenager and also Monty Python and the various British Isles accents were absolutely hypnotic to me, maybe because I was also a big fan of punk rock too. I have always been fascinated by the sheer number of local accents in such a small area as compared to the USA, where only on the East coast and the South can I hear regional accents. I live in a San Francisco suburb and every native English speaker seems to speak exactly the same from NorCal all the way down to Los Angeles. It's very dull.
