I certainly wouldn't describe it as lazy comedy. It correctly shows what life is like for many young British teenagers. It's a very well written show

Yay something to cheer me up after I've had a migraine and been crying at an audiobook 😂😂🥴 Edit: ye our school system goes nursery, primary school, secondary school, college/sixth form then uni. Sixth form will just be joint to the school (can usually wear your own clothes) and colleges are just completely separate but they still have the same level of education.

The Inbetweeners totally captures the essence of what it's like being a teenager in a typical British school. They really nailed it.

Might have missed them, but I didn't see any comments explaining the British education system, so - you have infants, primary and secondary school. Infants is 2 or 3 years (I think its been different over time, but for me in the 80s it was 3 years from 4 to 7. But some people I know only did 5 to 7). Then Primary school is from 7 to 11 and Secondary school is 11 to 16. That is all the mandatory education and you can leave and go to work at that point. Or you go into further education, which is 6th form college, which is where these guys are and is 16 to 18. Its called 6th form based on the old year numbering system that went Infants reception, year 1, year 2, then Primary year 1, year 2, year 3, year 4, then Secondary year 1, 2 3, 4 and 5. So 6th form was the optional year 6 of Secondary school. They changed it in the 90s, so the years are now numbered 1 to 11 across all schools, which makes 6th form seem a bit weird in its name. It was fun for me at secondary school, as I was there right in the middle of the switchover. My class years went 1, 2, 9, 10, 11!

This is the most accurate representation of British schools you will ever see. I was in sixth form 10 years after they were and it was still exactly the same. Just so embarrassing and unglamorous and not at all these perfect teen years that American TV shows and films show it to be. The language is 100% accurate too and every group of friends has a Will, a Jay, a Neil and a Simon.

I think 'lazy' in the sense of it being kind of schoolboy humour which this is what they effectively portraying, and definitely like it was growing up in school. Great to finally have you catch an Inbetweeners episode. Some are a bit of a grind to watch, but most of them are great.

This show is the only perfect portrayal of a UK high school

Check daily motion regularly guys and you will find these on there.

In the UK they have primary school which is 4-5yrs - 11yrs (depending when your birthday is) we then have secondary school which is 11-12yrs to 16. Then at 16-18yrs kids have the option to stay and do Sixth Form (which is part of the school) or go to college. Then kids go to university (equivalent to college in the USA) The vast majority of schools in the UK wear school uniform upto aged 16. That's to stop kids being pressured to buy the most up to date clothes, so everyone is equal. But we used to still get it about your brand of shoes or trainers lol

Living in UK schools, this is exactly what its like.

Inbetweeners is so good. It totally reminds me of school with my friends. I dunno if you've seen the American version of the inbetweeners. I think it flopped coz they tried to rewrite the jokes to suit American audiences. Should just left it alone. Some other great shows with some of the same cast are Friday Night Dinner & White Gold.
