This is unbelievably funny as someone who has had a long time incredibly painful medical condition and being told to treat it with ibuprofen by everyone around me including medical doctors even after reciving x-rays and CAT scans and shit. (Thankfully I'm finally getting it treated by my new PCP and I haven't had any pain since.)

@@andrewrhodes9247 chronic pain is extremely common and its rarely treated seriously because some people fake chronic pain for pain meds. i have had chronic pain all my life and ive never had a doctor prescribe anything stronger than ibuprofen or muscle relaxers. when i was a kid i would even get ulcers and throw up blood due to the amount of ibuprofen i was taking to try to help the pain (it didnt help the pain) and they still wouldnt give me anything, they just switched me to tylenol or something similar temporarily. ive lived my entire life without a moment of not being in pain so ive learned to react less to the pain im in so a few doctors told me i dont look like im in alot of pain and deny painkillers. some literally just told me its illegal for them to give me painkillers. also when i was a kid i would tell my friends i would unalive myself before i was 20 because i couldnt imagine living in pain the rest of my life. at some point you gotta take it into your own hands and self medicate or life literally feels not worth living. if the pain isnt caused by an actual treatable severe visible injury with visible proof that its causing you enough pain to inhibit your life, it feels nearly impossible to get pain medication that isnt over the counter.
