Get caught up if you haven’t seen Part 1 of this ridiculous journey yet! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs2iiLWKmJ-2dqs.html. For everyone asking, the husk was about $1000, and the rebuild with parts would have cost just under $1500 (including the $350 stainless steel refret). If you need guitar riffs work done, hit my dude Wendell up. He’s a wizard 🧙‍♂️ wendell@wendellmusic.com In the end, pricey, but now it's the ultimate retro-modern Les Paul, and for less than you’d pay for an all-original Norlin these days lol. What do you think and do you want to see more of these “rescue” projects?

Trogly is more of a purest. If he does deviate from that, he tends to lean towards the quirky, and doesn’t really delve to deep into sheer badassery very often. He’s a bit of a nerd. The Gibson Gump of KZfaq. I like the Trogster. He’s got great content. And he’s got a top shelf collection of killer guitars. Just sayin, he doesn’t go “metal” that often.

I ended up getting an ESP Eclipse a while ago now in a trade with a mate after I accidentally dinged it, and picked up a set of Ragnaroks from marketplace from someone who just pulled them from a guitar they get, and just listed them as Bareknuckles, no model idea. Had them put together by my tech, got the readings that they're rags, and it's a beastly guitar. Rags in single cuts is something special

I bought a 53 Goldtop husk that was found in a basement in PA.It had already been routed for humbuckers, and a set of original PAF's with missing covers were found with the guitar. So I just had the Paf's put in it with a set of modern 500k pots and capacitors. (The build was expensive enough already LOL) After ALOT of restoration, it was brought back to life.... and WOW was it worth it. It's truly a great feeling to find and save old guitars.

Awesome. There’s a lot to be said for beat up vintage guitars missing original parts. A while back I picked up a ‘66 P-bass that had been badly refinished with latex house paint, had two tuners replaced, replacement pick guard, etc, which meant I got it for a great price. I stripped off the latex paint and refinished it with nitro lacquer, put on a reissue pick guard, and now I have an awesome-playing vintage P-bass that looks like it should and sounds beautiful. And it cost me a small fraction of what a “correct” one would have. Here’s to bringing a beat up vintage back from the dead!

This guitar was a dream one that I was saving up for in the '70s with paper route money. I ended up buying a new '78 Ibanez Performer PF300NT (Les Paul) for $550 saving me only about $300, but that was a lotta money inflation adjusted. I loved my Ibanez so much that I bought 3 more Ibanez guitars, all from the classic era. I do regret not getting a Black Classic like yours though before prices got so crazy. This is a great way to acquire a player's grade instrument. I would have made entirely different choices on hardware, but we have entirely different requirements. It's just personal. Hats off to your tech for the amazing restoration.

It's so gratifying to bring a guitar back from the grave. Most of my guitars are from the 80's, and I have new ones that are very good, but I always go back to the old ones, can't explain, it may be irrational, but they feel so much better... ultimately what is real is what feels real to you.

This reminds me of the retromod muscle cars. 70’s Dodge Charger with a hellcat motor. Congrats on the guitar, it seems awesome! This channel deserves so much more!

Really great videos on this project! Since you mentioned wiring options check out freeway switches! They mount in the standard switch locations but give you twice the positions and you can’t tell by looking at it.

I did this same thing with my 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. It was almost in the same hacked up condition. Now it's my #1. Definitely a killer sound
