The creator of The Incredibles commented that it was technically a /family/ movie. Not made FOR kids, but watchable for both kids and adults. I can appreciate movies like that.

Pixar typically makes movies for adults, that kids can enjoy, as opposed to the other way around like most movie studios.
@crazycookie4645
@crazycookie4645 3 жыл бұрын
Only idiots who view age in a restrictive fashion would think that either of those sentiments actually means anything, the kind of people who think that everything has to either be Dora the Explorer or Game of Thrones. Just make a good movie that's literally all that matters. I don't respect Pixar because they make movies geared towards kids and adults alike, because that doesn't matter, I respect them because they make good movies (for the most part).
@ZealStarMedia

@@crazycookie4645 Well said.
@RedFloyd469
@RedFloyd469 3 жыл бұрын
@@crazycookie4645 Actually no, not well said. Nobody said that "kid movies" as opposed to "adult movies" are an indication of quality, or the other way around. It's not "restrictive" to state a very objective truth, that your script, your jokes, your visuals, can be TARGETED towards a specific audience, while also keeping another audience in mind. If a movie was made FOR kids, then the humor, visuals and script would reflect that. Children react to things differently than adults normally do, have different humor, they empathize with things in a different way, etc...so it's only natural that a different target demographic will result in a different type of movie. The idea that "you only have to make a good movie" makes absolutely no sense, considering that you can make a fantastic movie filled with sex-scenes, gore and violence. Aka not a movie targeted towards children. So no, it's not "idiotic" to see these categorizations as useful or informative. It's only silly to think that they are an indication of quality. There is absolutely a good reason why we use said categories.

A lacking comprehension of physics is practically a requirement for anyone writing an action movie these days! Mind you, I'd still be more impressed with a movie that makes me go "There's no way that makes sense physics-wise" but then someone more informed is like "Actually that's entirely plausible, they knew about this weird property that stuff has which applies in real life too".

@IamGrimalkin
@IamGrimalkin 4 жыл бұрын
@GM3210 There's a pretty simple answer: they didn't. But the only supervillains we actually see from that period are Bombe Voyage and the guy with an eyepatch in the "no capes" scene. Neither of those are powered, so the police can handle them.
@IamGrimalkin
@IamGrimalkin 4 жыл бұрын
@GM3210 Not necessarily. It seems there are supers in the world, and in general they tend to become heroes because revealing culture, but are in the very small minority of the population. There are also criminals who form a very small part of the population, but there is no evidence of a large tendency of supers to become criminals, so you can assume supers are just as likely to become criminals as anyone else. it's not too far-fetched to suggest that none of the very small number of supers decided to become criminals, especially since they don't really benefit much from doing so (if they want to be rich, or whatever, why not just use their powers in a factory or something?)

The fewest people are rich and the most people are "poor"(of course nothing compared to 3. World countries). This does not look good on a Flipchart or something, so the econists just set the required money for the classification of medium income lover. Afterwards it looked like a rue and not like a pyramid. Most of these make sense, but I think it was pretty clear Edna Mode wasn’t the only Super designer. They were dishing on a competitor’s design flaws. Eh. This film never really taught me about the concept of suicide as a kid. I assumed that some unknown figure had pushed that guy off the building and that he sued Mr. Incredible because he was mean or got hurt or something. Plus, certain dialogue just sort of flew over my head as a kid.

This movie provided such a great experience for children and adults alike, it manages to have an easy to follow plot that children will understand but also incorporates more complex themes like the initial suicide attempt and Bob's workplace complications or the ups and downs of a marriage. This way the movie appeals to all audiences and has a tone just serious enough to simultaneously still allow a certain level of jauntiness that is usually overrepresented in modern kid's/family movies.

The weird thing is that Helen could've just heard Mirage's voice both times and realized it's the same voice to get suspicious, then just listened in to some "Meet me at" line with some ear-stretching bit. Fixing the phone plothole is super easy, barely an inconvenience! Also, I'm pretty sure Edna explicitly didn't design any of the fatal cape suits. I felt like that was the point she was making, that she DOESN'T get her wearers killed.

The explosion could have propelled part of the plane upwards while propelling the family downwards, so it's not obvious that there is an issue there. But if you look at the part of the plane that fell down later it's the tail, which doesn't make sense since the plane wasn't pitching down and the rockets seemed to come from the sides into the center. But at least the tail isn't shown anywhere below the cloud when we look at it from below.

And limited the cast of characters, while making a ton of changes to the remaining characters" "That won't alienate fans, will it?" "No, no, no, the remaining characters are just as unique as they were.
