Even 20m/s wind can not break this plastic umbrella!
It means even typhoons never break it.
This amazing umbrella is made in Japan.
But why do this have to be the strongest in the world?
There are so interesting facts behind.
The umbrella company "White Rose" is making this umbrella and we are trying to break it.

The test is incomplete. What happens when the strong wind blows in from underneath? That's how most umbrellas break.
@MikeTrieu
@MikeTrieu 2 жыл бұрын
Seriously, I would be more impressed too see an umbrella be able to recover from being inverted. You can't prevent that from happening, but as long as doing so doesn't break it and it can survive to fight another day, that's a win.

Golf umbrellas have 2 layers to handle that situation (designed like a parachute). But they weigh a ton and cost a bomb!

There are "disposable" umbrellas that are designed to flip when wind blows from underneath. That makes them very hard to break, but the flip side is getting wet when the umbrella inverts. The up side is that the umbrella will snap back like normal, but there's a trade off. A strong umbrella that keeps you dry until it finally breaks from a big gust, or a weak umbrella that flips and gets you wet from time to time, but will recover so you are not completely exposed. It was just a few bucks, so I bought some and brought them back as a souvenir.

@@tvm73827 my dad had this huge gold umbrella. He's had it for as Kong as I can remember and ya it looks like a parachute kinda. I always remembered using the thing as a tent when I was a little kid cuz it was so big and sturdy. Lol

People living in hurricane prevelant areas (like the states of Texas and Florida and Louisiana, etc...) should totally learn.about this company cuz I bet they could benefit from them when hurricanes hit, esp the storm hunters and news people who r always right in the center of things.

It's "Hai" and I agree. I'm not sure if she's actually Japanese but she seems to embrace the stereotypical Japanese talking style and in this context, becomes overbearing. Furthermore, she kept on leaning toward the man, to a point where it seems inappropriate.

i dont thing ppl have issues with umbrellas going against the wind head on when holding it like a shield. i think the main issue is can it hold up when the wind hits underneath the umbrella turning it into a sail. also who uses a umbrella in hurricane winds?

Because Japan and especially big cities like Tokyo are very crowded. The clear plastic is especially useful for maintaining visibility even when 1000s of people in close proximity all have their umbrellas open also. Just because what YOU think is the right way doesn't mean it is the right way for Japan.

15m/s is not even a typhoon! There have been typhoons with more than 90m/s wind speeds in the recent years - even on land the strongest of them would typically still reach more than 50m/s. For reference: 27.8m/s is 100km/h (60 miles per hour). So, 15m/s is just about 55km/h, which really isn‘t even a storm. Besides that, the consumption of all those vinyl umbrellas here in Japan is really bad for the environment.

I am a zookeeper in chicago and I regularly feed the hippos day old sausages so they have a taste of their home. I put strings on the sausages and swing them around the hippos they get so mad at me and scream but it's an obsession sometimes the hippos try and break out of their cages but I keep swinging those hotdogs in wide circles over their heads. Luckily my boss doesn't know I do this or my coworkers
