Birchgrove Memorial is tucked away down a long gravel path surrounded by overgrown woodland near Swindon.
It is a place that recognises what happened to so many affected by the infected blood scandal, and what so many lost.
The entrance of the garden is marked by a stone inscribed with the words: "Birchgrove - This grove celebrates the lives of the 1,200 people with Haemophilia infected with HIV."

The truth will be heard but all these people will never see justice. No one will ever be held to account for anything in this country ❤

i hope all you good folks out there realize this was all done on purpose, i knew about this scandal in the early 90's, i have been waiting for it to come to the surface but the reason for it happening has yet to be mentioned by anyone, i hope it will come soon

This needs to be settled immediately. Infected blood and plasma was brought into the country by the authority at the time and not by these brave,innocent people.

Most of them won't have lived as long without the treatment. The treatment extended their lives despite it being infected.

It's still a nightmare and continuing to be one, even though I did get rid of the HCV in 2017! Although the total lack of follow up care is making meaningful recovery a rather elusive fantasy!

What all these scandals highlight for me is the utter contempt - the Govt , MPs , the Judiciary , the Civil Service , the Police The Post Office The Water Companies - have for ordinary people. Am i making myself clear -

Just what the hell do our politicians consider "Justice" is for this scandalous situation. The minimum should be that people involved to be tried for manslaughter. The main people in the dock should be all the politicians involved, the Management in the NHS. Someone must pay. New laws must be introduced to stop this. The UK governments "failed". "Failed" is the wrong word as it tends to indicate that they tried but they didn't, they deliberately covered it up. I note with shame that the doctors and health workers get blamed first but this was led from the Top. I hope real justice is served before the guilty die out

Like all big organisations no one at the top knows what is happening and no one in charge or responsible so no one is going to be punished.

We know what happened. People with infected blood didn’t care and they donated blood, THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING but still did it anyway. Interesting fact…..THIS IS WHY ENGLISH PEOPLE CAN NOT BY LAW DONATE BLOOD IN AMERICA IF THEY WERE BORN BETWEEN CERTAIN YEARS
@Skygrey2943
@Skygrey2943 25 күн бұрын
It wasn't the donors fault. They may not have ever known they had HIV or Hepatis C. It was how the system was set up. They had blood banks in the poorest of neighbourhoods blighted by drugs and neglect. They offered them cash for their blood donations. The blame should lay at the feet of those who sold the blood to the NHS. Secondly, the NHS are also partly to blame for not adequately checking where the blood was sourced. It's an awful scandal, and the cover up is just as galling as the crime.

That's what happens when yoy trust the Americans. The UK had to import the blood because of a shortage while the US knew the blood was contaminated and did nothing about it.

In most cases, the treatment gave them many years of extra life. Without it, most Haemophiliacs died in childhood.
