This 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe was the first car from the brand in 13 or so years that actually accomplished anything or was worth remembering. The G35/G37 Coupes are essentially 350Z/370Z 2+2 models in a more elegant way than Nissan used to do it. They are also the 11th generation Nissan Skyline in Japan.
Nissan has an interesting, if sometimes controversial and brutal, history. They were heavily ties to the Imperial Japanese war effort, and their founder was locked up by the US Occupational Government for war crimes. There is also some controversy over Nissan.com, but all of that is in the video.

Bill, a great review as usual. When I was in high school in 1971 I worked at the local Esso station for $0.90/hr., lol. When a Datsun 240Z pulled in for gas I vowed I would own a Z one day. Ended up owning a pair of 280Z's until the kids arrived. Many years later bought an Infiniti G35 coupe. What a beauty. Loved the acceleration and the growl from the back end. When the wife said we were getting a dog I traded it in for an EX35 crossover. Gave up a little hp but still nice Infiniti power. Still own it today with 150,000 mi. and still running strong. Decided to give it to my son and this week bought an Infiniti G37 convertible for nice retirement road trips. Fully loaded with 325hp and that great Infiniti performance. When I have talked Infiniti to friends over the years they have no idea about the brand. Most talk BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. Too bad as they have missed so many great cars over the years.

For all the reason you cited, plus it really being a manufacturer that marches to the beat of their own drum, I really appreciated you giving them a well balance favorable review! I've got a 2006 G35, & I love it! It runs great, drives great, & makes me feel good! I've had; 76 280Z, 81 280ZX, & 2 BMW 635's. They were cool & fun, but this G35 just beats the CRAP out of all! 😎👍🏼

Sounds like you ride around with at least 3 handguns at all times. I’m still driving a 2003 G35 Coupe, 6 speed manual in SoCal. Rides and sounds great.

I had an 03, but the sedan. Coupe had much better styling, but wanted the rear doors for the kids. It was peppy.

@@curiouscars9282 that'd be super! I recently found a 1995 for sale original owner, 31 miles...actual miles. Still has window stickers attached and plastic over the carpet. Stored in a climate controlled garage and started regularly all that other jazz. The car is brand frieken new! Candy apple red black leather. 3.2 Yamaha V6 220 ponies. To rich for my blood at 20k$

Yes the VQ can rev good. Switches: Well could be it´s a late "90s design". Back then some were still "Nissan" but on the other hand they saved much money so everything was on the cheap as possible side.

If you look under the hood on old Datsuns, some of the parts say Nissan on them, so Nissan has always been the name secretly
