SW, actually hasnt done all his homework. The 2 inquisitors who fell in love and were killed by Vader did not try to leave, mess up, or think they could kill vader. Vader doesnt need much reason to kill and him sensing their feeling was enough. Their attempt on his life was just a way of going down swinging. Also, the girl was named Ethkat Akariss (13 th sister) and she was extremely powerful. Especially in combat. She actually sort of bested Vader once in a dangerous sparing session. Come on SW, do your research. Book is called Rise of Red Blade.

They did kill a handful in the novel Inquisitor Rise of the Red Blade. They also got that one in the first couple of episodes of the Kenobi series. In the Darth Vader comics, we don't see any of the inquisitors directly Kill a Jedi as far as I'm aware, but they do assist Darth Vader on a couple of missions, and The Inquisitor with red skin, named Iskat, makes mention that is tradition for her and her Twi'ilek boyfriend to share a drink after slaying a Jedi.

Vader didn't really see overthrowing Palpatine as a goal till he found out that Palps had lied about Padme and about his kids, and by that time, the majority of the inquisitors had already died. Another thing is, he completely despises the inquisitors, he has always seen them as a waste of resources and disrespectful as himself. As in his initial encounter with the grand inquisitor, palpatine made it clear that Vader could be replaced. Also, he sees the other inquisitors as disgraces to the dark side and the sith.

He turns on Padme, choking her to unconsciousness, since she stood in opposition to what Anakin had become and what he had done,.. she dies not long after. The Emperor merely informed him, maybe stretched the truth a bit, that he (Anakin/Vader) had killed her in a fit of rage. In the Emperor Strikes Back the Emperor informs Vader and his son as if it’s the first time he’s heard of the boys existence. (The EMPIRE Strikes Back, the Emperor informs Vader ABOUT his son) Vader sets himself to capture and turn Luke to the Darkside as the Emperor commanded, but secretly to help him overthrow the Emperor so that he could rule the Galaxy. Anakin’s (as Vader) secret goal to usurp the Emperor is reoccurring goal of his in the continuity from the time he turned to the Darkside, both in Canon and Legends, Lucas even brought it up during the development of the Force Unleashed with Starkiller. Lucas’ Fallen Angel, Anakin/Vader, (being based on Lucifer/Satan’s fall from grace) twisted himself into believing that might means right, that his potential strength in Force meant that he should and will rule over everything, and lusted for power. We first catch a glimpse of this desire in Attack of the Clones, and he was like that until his dying day. The Rule of Two is meant to guarantee that only the strongest and most cunning would replace the Master, and only once they were ready. Anakin/Vader was not that guy after Mustafar. So Vader needed help with his goal, and the Emperor needed to insurance against that and someone powerful enough to not just replace Vader, but eventually himself. Hence the reason why the Emperor would’ve never have given Vader a squad of well trained Force users. The new canon’s Inquisitors make less sense for this reason than the Inquisitors and the Emperor’s Hands of the Legends stories who either didn’t know about each other or were weak DAs or were barely half trained or had their jobs and loyalties which separated them and/or divided them against other, and none were under Vader’s command. And Vader himself was only able to keep one or two apprentices for a short while at a time either in secret or at the Emperor’s command rather than fully under Vader’s command.

@@eds1942 Have you read the comics? Boba Fett is the one who originally informed vader of luke after boba had found out the name of the pilot who destroyed the first death star. Vader has a fit of rage, cracking the window in the room he was in after realizing palpatine lied about Padme and his children. (I've got no clue why you brought up Lucifer, also why bring up legends? It has no place in a debate about canon vader) Also the reason the inquisitors were given to Vader was to help with the hunting of jedi and they also made acquiring things like sith artifacts or wiping out insurgents easier for vader/palps, another thing is that Palp's knew he could never be bested by them. The majority of inquisitors were younglings/padawans before order 66, none of them besides Trilla and The Grand were very skilled or powerful. (Nearly every single inquisitor died to someone with a padawan/knight skill level, some even died to clones who had been mind tricked by a rogue jedi)

I mean, it says that he (Vader) had, since 1 aby, been after a guy named Skywalker right in the opening crawler… it’s just that in ESB, the Emperor tells Vader about him in away as if he (Palpatine) had just recently learned of his identity. Also, he didn’t need another reason to want usurp Palpatine. Lucas had explained this. It’s the part about the Rule of Two that most people cite. “The Master (Palpatine) wields the power. While the Apprentice (Vader) covets their power.” Mainly I think that he came up with that for the continuity of the trilogies, as well as for his fallen angel / Chosen One narrative. I brought up Legends as a point of comparison and contrast with the inquisitors. (It fits here) As for Lucifer? Lucas specifically based Anakin’s story arc in the Prequels on that Fallen Angel. There’s plenty of videos of interviews with him and I remember watching an hour long documentary on it maybe 15 years back. That scene on Mustafar (Hell) where Anakin is looking out, face partially shrouded, with tears in his eyes was inspired by Alexandre Cabanel’s painting “the Fallen Angel”. He also mentioned something about Dontes Inferno. Michael the Arch-Angel, that cast him down from heaven, was Obi-Wan. To really get into the mythology, I would pin Palpatine as Satan (even though Anakin is a better fit power-wise) and Anakin / Vader as one of the second group of Fallen Angels (the Grigori) either Samyaza (Infamous Rebel) or Azazel (the Devil), since they are lesser and were specifically tasked with watching over the human race, where as Lucifer came to want to rule the people of the world to worship him as a god . And Anakin/Vader wanted to rule the Galaxy as he believed that he could fix all its problems). (Begin Digression) JRR Tolkien’s Middle-Earth mythos flollows that model too. Morgoth wanted to rule the world and be worshipped by everyone as a god. Sauron wanted to rule the world to fix all of its problems as he saw them. (End digression) My point is that too many people (and KZfaqrs) don’t seem to get that, and instead put Anakin on a pedestal. Which is not what Lucas intended. Luke and the Jedi before the prequels are meant to be the ones on that pedestal. I get that he brought Balance to the Force, and that he found inner peace at the end. (Which I feel was one of the best scenes in scifi cinema). But if the guy was real, only the psychos would worship him. (It’s just been getting on my nerves for the past few months. Even YT’s that seem to get both the mythology and philosophy of Lucas’ Star Wars mythos seem to be on his band wagon lately. He is not a freaking all powerful Force demigod master of the light and dark now. He’s soul was merely redeemed and at peace)

Sidious has Vader train Jedi survivors of order 66 to hunt Jedi after being tortured and turned to the dark side. Also the grand inquisitor was a disillusioned Jedi temple guard that turned even before order 66
