An MLB perfect game is baseballs ultimate single game achievement. Pedro Martinez, Clayton Kershaw and Armando Galarraga lost their bids for a variety of crazy reasons. While players like
Roy Halladay, Randy Johnson, and Felix Hernandez were able to finish the job.

they really should overturn it, it was the last out of the game...that was it. If it was earlier in the game or whatever then I could see them not overturning it because of the "What if" factor. MLB is really screwing the guy over

Old video is tough. people always pause it when the guy is a foot away using the 1st base cam but you can't tell if the pitchers foot is actually down the angle from across 2nd shows it better. It kinda looks like his foot actually hits the bag later in the 2nd clip. You can see when the foot stops moving down. And honestly it was right when the runner goes by. I can see how the refs got that wrong in real time. Video replay was a godsend for sports.

I was there......at Dodger Stadium on July 28, 1991, when Dennis Martinez pitched a perfect game for the Montreal Expos. It was the second of three no-hitters that I've seen in person (four, if you count a spring-training game between the Dodgers and the Angels). And the fans at the stadium were cheering for him, even though he was pitching for the opposing team!

At 1:30 a list of items that can not happen in a perfect game are listed (no walks, errors, hits, HBP, etc.), but there *can* be an error and still have a perfect game. A routine pop up in foul territory that's dropped. It hasn't happened, but an error alone (in fair territory) has cost pitchers ten otherwise perfect games. Most recently when Kershaw had a perfecto and Hanley Ramirez made an error.

Everybody gives the pitcher credit for a no-hitter or a perfect game, but it really takes the whole team.

Whereas the ultimate one game achievement for a batter is four home runs in one game and the ultimate for a fielder is an unassisted triple play. Shoot, regular triple plays are already really rare as you must have zero outs and at least two base runners for it to even be possible!

Perfect games are trash. It's all about strike out games. You can have a perfect game even if the other player hit every pitch you throw, if your outfield catches every pop fly you can get a perfect game. You gotta throw all strikes to be a true ace on the mound.
