Top fuel dragsters are the fastest accelerating cars in the world. With over 10,000+ horsepower and only 2,200 lbs of weight, they have incredible performance capabilities. They burn over 1 gallon of fuel per second, can register over 5 g's of acceleration, and can rip through 1000 feet in under 4 seconds. The fastest speed on record is 338mph in only 1000' of space! We analyze everything including the 500 cubic inch v8, huge tires, and aerodynamics of the top fuel dragster. We breakdown the physics of an entire launch sequence and race the dragster against some of the fastest street cars in the world!

This video was fascinating! I thought I knew everything there is to know about fuel and tire characteristics, but I've learned so much from this. My favorite part was how the nitromethane despite packing less energy per kg than gasoline, it gives better performance because significantly more of it may be used due to the reduced oxygen needs.

Without a doubt. This is the most informative and explanatory video I've ever watched regarding the Top Fuel Dragster. Just the fact that Physics along with Mathematical equations are included to prove the actual specifications facts necessary to making all the verbal information easy to encode and actually believe. You should be awarded handsomely among your colleagues for the excellent job you have done with assembling this video for viewing. I've always wondered just exactly how much power nitromethane is capable of producing with 100% efficiency. 25,000 + HP??? THAT my friend is totally insane. Especially when one knows exactly what one HP really is with regards to weight and and what is necessary to offset the amount of gravitational pull that is placed on it. But 25,000+????? Thanx for the most excellent piece of valuable information.

Technically top fuel dragsters have a CVT. Their tires act like a continuously variable transmission and allow the dragster to hit optimal performance.
