i am experimenting with making a series talking about the history of games. and i thought evade would be a good place to start, considering i know it by heart.

As someone with hundreds of hours sunk this game the shrinking player count is worrying for me Evade hit a spot in me no other game could it featured tons of maps and bots that brought me back to the time where i was just goofing off with some friends in Gary’s mod. It also featured tons of small tech replicating jank source engine bugs like bhopping and trimpping. yes it capitalized on a hot trend during the time of its release and typically when the trend dies down the game dies with it but Evade managed to defy the odds staying alive well after the craze for next bots was starting to quite down. Another reason i see Evade’s fan base shrinking was just gameplay getting stale, i myself took a long break from Evade before slowly getting back into it in the end Evade just boils down to “run from pngs” and that’s about it. Now with the april fools update done it gives me hope as a receding player base also means less motivation from the developers but the april fools update showed me that the devs care just as much as we do and even better they announced a huge overhaul for evade which i hope will remedy some of the problem evade has an revitalize the interest in this game. Evade content itself has also ran into a huge issue, with very few gameplay changes basically every nook and cranny of the game’s has been covered on the internet, some bugs and glitches in this game have been game breaking. as someone who’s fairly active in Kaebi’s community I can feel that he is interest in evade is waning only kept here only by the fact that Evade is what he’s known for and switching will only result in a smaller viewer count. During his live streams all he’s asked to do is play evade whenever he plays something else that he actually enjoys. Evade is dying, there’s no denying that but I do hope that there might be a way, a small sliver of a chance that it persists. Great work documenting one of my favorite games the quality of your content relative to your fan base is astonishing i’m glad to see i’m not the only one who found the state of the game interesting, keep up the great work you’ve definitely earned a sub and a shoutout in the Kae server.

This game is a combination of fun, saving people, gore refrences, horror, goofiness, and lore all in one

the only thing i hate about Evade is that it's the reason why TBZ devs left to focus on the main cashcow nowadays TBZ is just hollow with shitty rebalances which makes the game frustrating to play and grind

i just discovered they are not implementing updates bc they are working on another one that is really a BIG ONE The overhaul update is said that it will get a physical lobby new animations and interactions for ladders and new mechanics

Dude your story telling is so good , I recommend do one like this in doors..

i joined evade like 1 week before the unusual update and someone was even flexing the unusual that was barely noticable also when i was a noob i never even knew about all the rare emotes like bold march so dont act like they know your a pro based of an emote that bet they dont even know exist(and i still think ikea is laggy)

evade in normal times (at peak or not at peak) usually reaches 30k-40k players, and it maintains that. i usually think that evade is more of a socialising type of game where you can have fun with other players and stuff but that just can be any game, it's just my opinion on it. overall, evade has a lot of potential and it would definitely be fun to see more updates on it imagine commenting 11 months after this video was uploaded lololol
