There is a simple working method for obtaining weapons from summons. When you press the preview button (eye icon) in sumon's inventory, you can see the equipment for a moment. You can quickly drag a weapon, press tab and put it in your character's inventory. Just picked up Azer's hammer.

CONSOLE PLAYERS I FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET IT! Ok, you need to find a weapon that gale can consume to calm the orb. Once you have 1, place it in the world and then summon the azer, then take control of it and walk up to the weapon and "consume" it. This will equip the weapon to the azer (unequiping its warhammer). Once the weapon is equipped, dismiss the azer and quickly hold the "search" button to scan for its corpse (It will look like the weapon it consumed). You need to quickly before it despawns loot its body and get the warhammer. It's fairly easy, and I got it first try (Use Triangle/Y to quickly loot its entire inventory). The downside is you lose the weapon it consumed, but the azer warhammer is a strong weapon, so im sure you can find a worthwhile trade.

You can also get the flame blades permanently. If you hire the druid hireling, level him up, cast flame blade, dismiss him and rehire him, he has the flame blades as an item. LV 2 or 3 spell slots = 3d6 fire damage LV 4 or 5 spell slots = 4d6 fire damage LV 6 spell slots = 5d6 fire damage This can be repeated as many times as you want, they are treated like normal scimitars i.e. one handed, light, finesse, but they retain their full damage. Saw it in a 'Toyhouze' video, and it worked

My guess is that it's because it doesn't count as a "bound" weapon...meaning that you could theoretically do the same trick with the Deva, Djinn, and Cambian

you can also get all 4 myrmidon weapons in the lorroakan tower after fighting him. kill him and all the myrmidons then come back later and the pouches on the ground that replace the myrmidon corposes will have the myrmidon weapons in them, they've got some powerful abilities

I know you can see these items buy just inspecting summons, but it's pretty cool the amount of detail Larian put into them. Long descriptions, bonus actions, and effects, making them versatile (or not in some cases!). When it would have been easier and something nobody would really have been noticed / been bothered by if a summon was given a generic, slightly hard-hitting item. It really adds depth to fighting with (or stealing from) summons that I really appreciate.

Wanna have fun with a +3 great sword in act 1 you're not supposed to access until act 3, which also causes the person who has that weapon to have another cool different greatsword you can then get from them and act three, two? Cast command drop on Commander Voss at the bridge with the dragon.

you can do this with wood dryad as well, super good weapon, 3d6 blud dmg (not many things resistant to blud). had my fighter laezel (w great weapon master) use it all the way up until she got the silver great sword from voss

Bruh abusing your summons like this is absolutely wild and honestly Larian shouldn't nerf it but maybe buff enemies if you abusr stuff like this and Deva Mace

I accidentally found out that you can get elementals weapons by disarming one with a fighter. The one i got was a flail that gives a skill that causes lightning damage, and in 2 turns, the enemy gets stunned

You can still take it you just need to get the azer to equip a torch you can do this by controlling the summon and clicking on a torch from your inventory or floor and make them hold it you can then pickpocket the sword and shield

this doesn't work anymore. can't target ANYTHING. tried attacking a guard & started a fight (duh). I eventually found a stolen barrel I could move in front of a guard, tried breaking it, and started a fight, after moving it long enough (& annoying him) he took the barrel & stuck it in his pocket. Based on the video though it would have been nice to have lol.

you can also use things like command drop, and disarming strike, fear, etc, to make them drop the weapon

Can do the same trick with the Air elemental I believe, drops a similarly OP weapon with a lightning stun

With the deva stuff if you pick up the character you cam get their weapons. Wonder if you can kill your summon, pick it up, then loot them.

use the hag mask on a character that have the summon and command drop on it

just imagining a rogue fighter with two of these. two bonus actions means both can be triggered and two attacks with the main hand to get so much damage die.

For anyone that is trying to get it now there is other way. Go to Azer inventory by pressing 'I', then start clicking on eye icon at the bottom and try to stole it from his hands by clicking and holding LMB on weapon icon. Than just press 'Tab' and move it to anyone else's inventory. It won't work on consoles tho.

"...you're not supposed to get" and yet it has a fully written up inventory entry and can be equipped..... yeah, sure sounds like that wasn't meant to be part of the game

I love the story/world building that comprises the majority of DnD (like the Forgotten Vale and Baldur's Gate, IDK if those are different really, but I also don't know if there is a larger "universe" name or anything) And I fully appreciate that a massive amount of modern video games are really only possible because DnD helped to get the ball rolling with mechanics and such. Elder scrolls, Soulsborne, KOTOR, WoW, Diablo, and so many other personal favorites of mine all stand on the foundation of DnD from what I can tell... But that said, tbh some DnD mechanics are... Let's say "less than optimal" imo. I don't know enough to say there aren't ways around it, but I don't like the Idea that I can spend 5 years building a character into a walking nuke who calls himself a wizard. If the story my character has built so far has him learning to do anything from calling a thunderstorm, to turning people into toads, to facing down a legendary fighter and just boiling the blood inside their veins in the first 5 seconds of the fight, or maybe pull raw energy from my environment and use it to fashion a longsword made of pure arcane power, or face down a massive dragon and watch it breathe a huge swathe of flame at me, only to hold up a hand and stop the flames, condense them into a tiny ball, and fire it back at the scaled monster (Which seems absolutely possible with all the options given by DnD's world) Well, I think if I (my character) is capable of doing that at any given time, my damage numbers shouldnt be restricted to "4d8 fire damage", or "2d10 and a second action of 1d10 but need a short rest after to recharge" It just doesn't make sense to me. I don't like how small the numbers of things are either, a 250,000 year old Dragon overlord who has fought lesser gods for centuries at a time and destroyed entire kingdoms on a whim shouldn't be stuck with 2,000 hp, it should have like 130 million; but at least numbers can be inflated with simple multipliers. The dice roll mechanics though, they leave too much room for error imo. Now I understand that it makes things more immersive for various spells or techniques to have a chance of being screwed up in execution... To a point, if a... IDK... Let's say a battlemage? Has an ability where they can maybe surround their great sword with some kind of ethereal red magical glow and then do a giant leap and crash down like a meteor and pump the magic from their sword into the target to make them explode... Well, that's a complicated sounding ability, so I can see screwing it up easily. However, if this battlemage has spent the last 400 years fighting dragons and demons and giants, performing that ability well over 15,000 times in the process, there shouldn't be a dice roll that says "oh, you rolled a 2, well when you started to charge up for your leap, you tripped and rolled your ankle, went off balance, and missed completely; you hit the target with part of the AoE magical explosion for 2 damage!" Or the Wizard I mentioned, let's say he has spent the last nine thousand years specialized in fire magic overall, he can basically flick his middle finger and call out a fireball capable of covering half a mile in a 1200 degree coat of shiny purple flames... So why is he having to worry about his dice rolls potentially letting him hit target 1 for 200 damage but then target 2 just gets a tickle of flames and takes less than 10 damage? And why does he need to take a damn nap and drink a Red bull in order to be able to cast his 3rd fireball? He's been throwing 200 of them a day for the last 600 years.... Like I said, I completely understand having certain restrictions tied into mechanics, but it just feels like that a lot of players get gimped because other people don't want them to get OP, it's understandable, but it handcuffs the story/Lore aspect of things at a bare minimum imo.

I hope Larian doesn't fix this, there are plenty of other legit overpowered strategies and this trick may be the one thing that makes using weapons other than 2-handers worth it. Also, no new player during a blind playthrough will encounter that, so it doesn't spoil anyone's experience.

All these methods of getting these special summon weapons are all patched I'm pretty sure. Tried for a while and summon wouldnt get arrested, the ONE time i got it arrested it was arrested with one of the party members and its warhammer was nowhere to be found in any chest

Just a bit of an issue here. Saving the game while you have a summoned ally in your party will not only crash the game but corrupt your entire campaign’s save files. All of it. Every. Single. One. I have lost 2 saves to this. I am sad.
