Glenn Ellis was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala., and recalls an early fascination with media coverage of the city’s Children’s March. Although he was captivated by shots of children and teens clapping hands and marching, his mother forbade him from attending. It was not until Ellis grew older that he understood the dangers faced by the young protestors.

There is no doubt that there have been great atrocities perpetrated upon my colored brothers over time, but vengeance is not the answer, otherwise where do you draw the line? Vengeance is mine sayeth the lord so leave it to him and live a full life.
