The VT1-2 was a test bed for the leopard 2 to test whether a manual loader or autoloader was better. It used the engine on the leopard 2 but used an unarmored chassis, giving it incredible mobility. It was never meant to be used in combat, which is why the vehicle has no armor and is so light.

No not directly. It was a program to develop a Leopard 1 successor with a new tank concept. The engine was made by MTU but differed from the Leopard 1 and 2 engine. The engine also had way more horsepower. The testbed thing is also incorrect because the VT1 tested a unique way of shooting the gun in a kind of swivel motion.

This straight just not true, why do you decide to lie? The VT was designed on the chassis of mbt/kpz-70 which at the time was already cancelled at least by the Germans. This vehicle was built to create a successor for the leopard 1 like the video said. There were also many other projects like this one, all of them tried to be the successor for the leopard. It is true that this thing originally had the same engine as Leopard 2, but it also had more space and capabilities to mount a bigger engine if needed. There were 2 versions of this thing, one with 2 105mm guns and one with the Rheinmetall 120 mm guns which is in the game. When UK left from the project Germans had already created the Leopard 2 and this thing was trialed against the leopard to see whether this thing could be superior in certain areas compared to leopard 2. Spoiler: it wasn't and Leopard 2's firecontrol system was found to be so good that first shot hit accuracy was equal or better than on this thing which had 2 shots to hit the first shot.

@@Llamajake777yes. Quik addition. The idea was to drive in a Zick Zack over the battlefield and the fire controll system should automatically fire when on the enemy. Because of the huge succes and improvementw of the Leopard 2 the projekt was canceled because the Leopard 2 was superior in every way. The VT1-2 did what it was supposed to and wasnt a failure. The Leopard 2 was just better

That's true. But the ho229 had a smaller radar crossection than other planes its size. The Horten brothers never knew about it and didn't design it that way. But still, it could be considered as a "stealth" plane in WW2.

I do not understand why they did not make a variant of the leopard chassis to have less armour and a much smaller turret (smth like the wolfpack in American tree) or have an IFV turret mounted on it since the engine of the VT1-2 had the same engine but no armour so more maneuver ability as that would be very useful as an IFV

Northrop was designing flying wing designs about the same time the Horten brothers were, and the Northrop design is eventually what developed into the B2. Only thing the Horten did first was use jets to power itself, unlike the Northrop designs which used pusher props.

War Thunder is actually on like every console and if I remember correctly it’s on mobile now. As a long time player I will warn it’s incredibly grindy and time consuming. I usually play daily for a few months then drop it for a while until I’m in the mood for it again.

The ho229 did not perform well at all. The only reason the B2 is able to fly at all is because of the advance computer systems that make adjustments so the handling isn't horrible. Flying wings don't work unless you have computers. The test pilot for this jet was killed during a test flight.

@@thebananaclub you don’t need super advanced computers to make a flying wing work. Sure they help a lot but you don’t need them. The US created multiple flying wing designs throughout the late 20s-to late 40s none of which had super advanced computers.

The 229 was never actually requested by the Luftwaffe and was sketches quickly post war so Horton could go work as a adviser to NATO, the 229 was also never given engines or guns and even on the skribble there was no guns or gun mounts within the design
