Conceicao is a good fighter, Shakur is just better. He didn’t come to survive. He did what most fighters won’t do today. He came to test himself and his abilities against a elite fighter. You shouldn’t take that away from him. Stevenson missed weight which meant Conceicao didn’t have to fight Shakur, would still have gotten paid the same money and would be able to fight for the titles in another bout with a lesser opponent. I respect what Conceicao did real sh!t…

It’s definitely apart of a professional fighters’ duty to make weight. But we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Maybe he could have made weight and wasn’t disciplined enough. Or maybe he told his promoters his body couldn’t make 135 healthily anymore, but they insisted on one more fight at that division. He also just got married and had a baby. In other words he’s a human being that has stuff going on in his life just like the rest of us. Importantly, a sign of his integrity, he admitted it was unprofessional and embarrassing. He could’ve made all the credible excuses I made for him, and justified it, but he didn’t.

Because Shakur wasn't focused on cutting weight as much as conceicao throughout camp. Look at how much leaner Conceicao is in comparison to him. It looks like Shakur tried to cut weight too late instead of gradually over a longer period of time

I'm really surprised Shakur didn't get disqualified in this bout or even multiple points taken for the throwing, counted more than 20+ low blows Andre Ward was calling "body shots". Seems Stevenson above the rules as he's their next rising champ. Even the excuses for missing weight.

a lot of those were on the belt line bro. its the reaction from the fighter that makes other people think he's getting hit in the nuts when he really isnt. shit, look at that prograis vs redkach fight last year. regis hit redkach right on the belt line with the perfect shot and redkach went down grabbing at his balls and everyone thought prograis hit him low. after watching the replay you could clearly see that he didnt hit him below the line. believe it or not, getting hit in those perfect spots on the belt line can and send a shooting pain down to your nut sack making it look like you really got hit down below when you didnt lol

Breaking the rules requires intent. Shakur didn’t intend to hit him low. He didn’t need to. The guy was way out of his league. Shakur could’ve jabbed him to a victory, so why low blow for an advantage? I see a lot of elite guys’ punches stray low when trying to go to the body. Btw, he was warned, and then penalized. That’s how you punish someone-incrementally, not just throwing the book at them, especially without intent.
