Felldoh I figured Cloud was heavily requested before and during the ballot so even though I doubted it would happen that of course didn’t stop me from wondering what it would be like to have him in Smash. As soon as I saw space just like in the beginning of FF VII’s opening cinematic I knew it was Cloud. For me this beats even Steve’s reveal in terms of shock value.

Yeah this shit was exciting. That’s a cool idea for Master Chief’s reveal, especially the Halo theme fading in. I hope Snake would be part of the reveal too.

Kinda disappointed how many people didnt recognize the opening bombing mission theme. Its almost ffVIIs theme song at this point.

It's mostly Smash Bros. is geared towards Nintendo fans, and FFVII wasn't on a Nintendo system until more recently in late March. So most really had no reference for it, then there are people like Maximillian Dood who got it right away that actually played the game back in the day

Could you imagine going back to tell any of these people that the next Smash game would have Sephiroth, Minecraft Steve, Banjo Kazooie, Snake, Simon and Richter Belmont, the next Persona protagonist, King K Rool, Ridley etc. They all would have thought you were nuts

All youtubers / reaction videos not (instantly) recognising 1 of if not the most iconic (opening) scenes in all of video gaming are fake (dude bro) gamers to me and should be ashamed. Not only for themselfs but for there family, friends and there (future) offspring. What a sad and desperate attempt to get some clicks. Maybe they are in the final stages of dementia, otherwise its almost impossible. Its comparable on a level of : Not recognizing your own name. Forgetting how to eat or sleep. Not knowing what left or right is.

A couple of the reactions in here are real, but yeah most seem super played up. Hell I remember my reaction was like: "Really?...okay, that bitch wasn't even on a Nintendo system" lol. Glad he got it overall though
