The Iowa Files presents: Bonnie & Clyde After Dexfield Park

Former teacher and historian Rod Stanley returns to the Iowa Files with the end of the story for Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. After the 1933 gun battle in Dexter which left every member of the gang either wounded or dying, the two romanticized criminals met their end in Louisiana 10 months later. But they returned to Iowa at least once to rob a bank before that, and the story of their last year is fascinating.
The Iowa Files, an educational history lecture series, is presented by the WDMHS-WDM Public Library. Every program is free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of West Des Moines Historical Society members, the Iowa Arts Council, the EMC Insurance Foundation and the Friends Foundation of the West Des Moines Library.

I've been to Dexter ( Homeowners property, there's a photo of B&C kneeling down and Clyde cleaning a BAR with two small trees behind them. I took a photo of the trees from just about the same spot) and Gibsland for the Bonnie and Clyde fest. Locals couldn't believe I was from NY and checking out these sites.

I roadtripped to Dexter from Colorado last summer to see the shootout site and tour museum.That picture was taken at the campsite?

@@359Joey the one that I mentioned, yes. I tried taking pictures of the writing on the markers that are on the side of the road, but the sun was brutal that day.

All The Instructors should watch all the Bonnie and Clyde Videos, and espcially watch the Documentries of Bonnie and Clyde before they get up in front of students because their talk to all the Students is very general and vaige of their knowledge of Bonnie and Clyde. PS If I was sitting in the classroom and heard them all talk I would get up and walk out. That school needs an instructor that knows of deep details of Bonnie and Clyde before they get up in front of a class and speak. PS: Go sit down and watch a good Historian speak me !!! Glenn

WD Jones is buried in the same cemetery as my husband in Houston Texas. Clyde had a cousin that lived in Conroe Texas and is buried there

Good presentation. You need to research the Eastham prison break again. You made several factual errors. I am being critical in the name of historical accuracy. No offense intended.
