Fantastic job Jason 👏 that's probably one of the more difficult repairs, and messing up on video just shows people how it's not all rainbows and unicorns with 100% success first time. Personally I have to say I would not have worked on that board a second time after realising the customer was a whining nark. I'd have provably refunded it immediately and not thought another second about it, but you persevered and you've been rewarded for your determination. Well done 😁🥳

Mobile devices like phones and pads came in after my time in this line of work. However, from some of the presentations of various repair outlets, it strikes me that some customers of these products are absolutely hideous - maybe worse than than the remaining dregs of the rest of the CE clientele. I'm also surprised so many repairers attempt repair equipment damaged by fluids and products "got at" by third party repair agents. Personally I took pride in tackling the latter but fluid damage always a no go area. A growing part of me is beginning to regret I left the industry but anecdotal evidence about how customers have become, still makes me wary. I continue to admire and respect your professional work bench set up. It's very refreshing to see.

Great work sir. I have an iPad that stops responding every now and then but it recovers after some seconds. I try to push it around the edges and that seems to help but I’m not sure. I wanna think the “line” has some form of a microfracture that can’t be seen even under a microscope. These lines made of copper are so very fragile and subject to oxidation that it’s crazy difficult to locate the actual fault without using X-ray equipment. Add to that, components being packed so closely together.

I attempted this today on a donor board with OL on that pin. I watched this vid, Jesses vid and Jessas vid, and somehow when i pulled back the first layer of copper ground plane and began gently scraping the area. I never saw the traces and im 100% positive i destroyed them. Crazy thing is the phone still works it just has no touch and gets hot in the area i was scraping. Its a clean unlocked board, id love to get it working again, can i swap some chips to an icloud locked se board? If so what do i need to transfer to not have any functionality problems?
