The rise and fall in Spain is a huge history lesson on its own. The Reconquista. It starts as a few Christian groups survive in the far northern mountains; all of lower Spain conquered by... There are biases, though subtle. For example, to say Mohammmed pbuh "waged wars against the polytheists" is misleading. Initial wars were defensive (Battle of Badr, Battle of Uhud, Battle of the Trench, etc.), and wars waged later on were to get ahead of other tribes who were likely to wage war on the muslims displayed in their actions. Some tribes were flat out caught being treacherous and breaking agreements (even in the middle of battle sometimes), which would not go unchecked in any former or modern society.
