From my time behind the wall I can honestly say that the difference between a decent bid and a shit time can be a good pad mate.. If your in with a pal then it's sweet but if you get a dickhead it can be all bad, single cell status is quite easy to get as you say mate through mental health or the doctors etc. Glad you've got your medication bro and hope your all better soon.. And yes Paul Sykes was always Cat A and high risk and so I doubt he would ever have had a pad mate... Also I heard Vella was a bully but Ferris had him shook... the Wee Man was the real deal and went up against the Godfather Arthur Thompson Snr and that was no mean feat.

Hey Yammy..did you ever encounter an ex-pro boxer from Burnley inside? Initials FH. He done a few decent stretches - think the last time he got out was maybe 15 years ago and moved to Spain for few years. Moved back to UK started a boxing club up north for the young lads of the area to help keep them out of trouble and away from the life. He sadly passed away few weeks before Xmas.
