This was a very, very funny episode. The more I listen to these shows, the more i appreciate the running gags from week to week.

Great gag with the dishes breaking every time Jack says he gave someone 50 cents! A friend of mine described this one to me and I've been hoping to hear it for years. Thanks for the old time radio.

Probably in my TOP FIVE off all-time Benny shows. Thanks for posting. Love hearing Frank Fontaine again. A friend of mine used to write shows for the troops with him when they were in the army together.

as much as I love Jack Benny program's humor I have an equal amount of enjoyment out of a little game I play with myself I try to count how often mel blanc appears and in how many roles having said that this is definitely a classic episode

I love this episode and listen to it frequently,. Frank Fontaine, as John L. C. Silvoney, Winston Churchill, Cary Grant , and James Cagney, is absolutely terrific.

Great episode listened for the first time Thanks for posting. seen his t.v. show several times but this Radio show was hysterical. the woman who plays the waitress is stuck in my head right now but she's saying "Number Please" or "Please deposit 10 cents" like a telephone operator, just can't remember where its from or just maybe she frequently plays the telephone operator role in things. this whole episode is reminiscent of Weird Al's movie UHF where the t.v. station owner gives a bum a penny and it turns out to be worth a fortune.
