If you’re talking about journey to the west That’s cause he hardly appears in it well Taoism he appears a lot but journey to the west is Buddhism not Taoism and Taoist are often depicted as demons trying to capture the tang monk in the journey to the west

Not really. Plus Yu Huang's been worshipped as a Top God since the 1000 BCs & Wu Kong is from a novel written in the 1500s ADs. Its like saying that Superman handled the God of Judaism, Christianity & Islam. In the Journey to the West novel, the Heavens sent lesser gods & the Buddha (who's technically a Demigod) after Sun Wu Kong (also technically a Demigod) & Gautama Buddha was enough to handle him.

In China. The Jade Emperor is the biggest god. He is responsible for governing other little gods. The Buddha is under the jurisdiction of the Jade Emperor. Chinese Buddhism is very Chinese style. Otherwise, Buddhism cannot be accepted by the Chinese.
