Its sad this man gets no credit but everyone claims joe is such a pioneer. Thank you for this interview. I needed this. Im from the bay area but dated a girl from brooklyn..man she had so many brooklyn stories. And I dont know by whom but she was photographed as well and showed me a published book of her and other family from when she was a kid. It was iconic...r.i.p. zoe anna king.

Under 6,000 views is criminal. This is, arguably, the best interview that I have seen with a photographer who isn't insecure enough to hold back his wisdom for fear of someone stealing his spot. What he has done is exactly what I rued not doing in the 80's when I first got into photography, and that is to document everything, but hindsight is a beautiful thing. The more that you understand, that things never remain the same, is the more that you should understand, you should, document the moment you're in.

It’s gotten way more traffic in the last months than last summer when I made it. Lots of big things happening on my channel. Come visit. Thx for your support Edward. Worked on this edit for 5weeks.

Loved this. Never heard of this legend and I'm so glad KZfaq pushed this on my feed. The word that comes to mind with Jamal is 'excellence'. His commitment to mixing technical excellence, mastery of skill and a commitment to empowering others. Jamals focus on education, goal setting, excellence and commitment is such an inspiration. Thank you for showcasing this most amazing gentleman!

This has encouraged me so much! I'm a part of an upcoming exhibition with 5 other locally known photographers. It's one of many opportunities I will have. But I've doubted my work compared to these local legends. I think the take away for me is. Don't wait for the opportunity, create it. Wow, so much to think about. Thank you for sharing this interview and respect to Mr. Shabazz🙏🏾

@@stevecarty If cameras are just a tool, then why don’t they use Hyundais for F1 racing.. it’s just a tool, a car is a car is car ? Using different cameras give you different effects just like using different cars give you different handling.. It would’ve been nice if Mr Shabazz broke down some of his favorite cameras, that’s all I was asking Ansel Adams.
@stevecarty
@stevecarty 12 күн бұрын
@@highway65 the attitude I love. You’re comparing speed to creativity. Angel adam says those two can’t be compared. This isn’t Apples and oranges. This is cameras and F1 cars. Here’s a comparison how fast does the car go without the driver? How well does your camera shoot without you? Level up, your mindset, my friend
