What law is Jeremiah referring too in the New Covenant?

Jeremiah prophesied that the purpose or goal of the law would be accomplished in our hearts (righteousness, holiness, cleansing, etc) rather than our still needing to separate ourselves and see a priest when we have a skin disease or practice other cleanliness laws. Which law was he referring to? We agree with the following handling of this question by the New American Commentary: “Within the OT context, it appears that the law to be written on Israel’s heart was the Mosaic law, as many argue. The NT teaching, however, on the changed relationship of the believer to the Mosaic law calls this into question, if as we have said the Christian is in some sense under the new covenant. That ‘my law’ specified in v. 33 could refer to something more basic or foundational than its specific manifestation in the Mosaic law is suggested by the statement in Gen 26:5 that Abraham obeyed ‘my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws.’ This possibility is also suggested by Paul’s reference in 1 Cor 9:21 to ‘the law of God’ and ‘the law of Christ’ as distinct in some way from the Mosaic law. Furthermore, if the point of Jer 31:33-34 is primarily a changed nature rather than the acquisition of facts, and if the goal of the law rather than the law itself is in view (Lev 18:5; Deut 4:1; Rom 13:10; Gal 5:23; 1 Tim 1:5-11), then nothing need or can be said about the law referred to here except that it is from God.”

God said it would be not like the one he gave to their fathers. So you can't slice it up and make it say something it doesn't.

This is why Gentiles are NOT supposed to read and interpret OUR scriptures. They don't tell the TRUTH.

Also the entire nation of Israel did not violate the covenant ....Caleb and Joshua and all people under 20yo Levites all allowed to enter land of Israel and are cherished and protected by God. No where does the Hebrew scriptures say God made a mistake and changed his mind about the covenant given on Sinai by instead sending a man god trinity human sacrifice for others sins a 1500 years after Torah was given to the world... No where... Only in out of context and modified Christian old testament s which read differently than hebrew.

nope you read Jeremiah 31 out of context and ignore the dozens of places God clearly states he preserved original covenant from Sinai and would restore the Jews for all time....

There is one everlasting covenant renewed by Jesus that creates one new man, the uncircumcised Jew or Judaeo-Christian, and they are Spiritual Israelites. All prophecy fulfilled by Jesus the Messiah.

Show a scripture that says a person can become a "spiritual Israelite"

@@jayjohnson7708 Ephesians was written to brethren who were called "saints" having been baptised by God the Father into the commonwealth of Israel. Please read Ephesians 2:11-22 and you will find the "new man" is one connected spiritually into the church of covenants. In Romans 2 St Paul describes baptism as circumcision of the heart, which is later in Romans 8 called election. God's elect are Israelites, and election into the Holy Spirit of promise given to Abraham and Jacob later called Israel, is the spiritual church my friend. Believe and enjoy.

@@simonskinner1450 Israelite are by blood Psalm 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. Who are the people that made a convenant by sacrifice

@@jayjohnson7708 and now the covenants are available by faith through Christ. The sacrificial atonement covenant has ended, we now have a penal substitution atonement covenant. You do not have to accept this but it is the truth of the Holy Bible old and new testament. Jesus fulfilled the promise of God the Father of Jesus, and giver of the promise to Abraham, by being the very prophet raised from his people as Deuteronomy 18. You are now entitled to access to God's covenant via belief in the witness and authority of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

@@simonskinner1450 I agree with you. But the rest of the Jew-ish people need to openly admit that they aren't the Israelites and they know who the real Israelites are. They converted to a peoples heritage and they won't admit it. Which is why Israel is the second highest country with skin cancer. These people were never in captivity they can't survive in the sun all day. The people who know the truth are tired of their lies. Israelites were known to go to egypt all the time. If the Romans are coming from the north to sack Jerusalem you wouldn't flee north towards their territory that makes no sense. You would head south so you wouldn't get killed. And south is Africa. In Africa they also ran from the arabs converting people to Islam. Either you converted to islam or you died so they fled further into Africa. Jesus hid in Africa. People like him can't hide amongst hamites because of skin differences. Ham was dark skin and had 2 brothers from the same parents. What color would his brothers be? Hamites and shemites intermingled for thousands of years. All I'm saying is that the TRUTH MATTERS. ALL OF IT

The "true Israel" has ALWAYS been those in FAITH, as was Abraham. His FAITH was accounted unto him as RIGHTEOUSNESS. . Galatians 3:6-7 (NKJV) ... "Therefore know that ONLY THOSE WHO ARE OF FAITH ARE SONS OF ABRAHAM." . Apostate Israel was NOT of FAITH ... but of Law. . GALATIANS 3:18 ... "For if the inheritance be of the Law, it is NO MORE of promise." . ROMANS 9: 6-8 ... "For they are NOT all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are NOT the children of God." . Galatians 6:15-16 ... Rather, what matters is being a NEW CREATION. They are THE ISRAEL OF GOD." (the Church) . MATTHEW 3:9 ... And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' . 1 John 2:23 ... "NO ONE WHO DENIES THE SON HAS THE FATHER." (Jews) __________________ God divorced apostate Israel for her harlotry (Jer 3:8). “The harlot” is an established label for faithless apostate Israel ( Isa. 1:21; 57:8; Jer. 2:2, 20), ... However, there was a "remnant" of BELIEVERS that came out of that OLD Covenant ... and into the NEW Covenant. . Matt 21:43 ..."Therefore I tell you that the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you (apostate Israel) and given to a people who will produce its fruit." (the Church). . WE THE CHURCH ARE "THE TRUE ISRAEL OF GOD." . GALATIANS 3:16 ... "The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed (capitalized). Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your Seed," meaning one person, who is Christ." (And those in Christ) .
