I'm Mexican with Tunisian and Cretan Greek ancestry! Mexico is EXTREMELY Jewish, perhaps not culturally, but absolutely ethnically.

@@BBWahoo wow what a mix. I knew we were pirates since kids somehow, I'm 48 now with long beard and peyot, no dreads: Barbablanca. What a story hey? First archbishop of Mexico or New Spain was a Jew and Columbus owned Jamaica mon! Pass me the weed and rum lchaim. I heard or also saw a video where they show and say Columbus' s original family home was in Ibiza before going to Genova Italy to study before going to the Catholic king and queen ( may their memory be erased).

@@Shalomalechm Absolutely! These are relatively recent sephardim as well, around 1860's when the french tried to set up an empire, there was a deluge of north african jewry from algeria/tunisia, and during that time a lot of greek refugees came to mexico and kept coming in until the 1950's. These greeks came from thessaloniki, corfu, ionannina, crete and some from macedonia, there are a lot of their descendants in Sinaloa and Guadalajara. Of course there are also spanish derived sephardim who have a complexion similar to lebanese due to ancient roots from tel meggido, yes that meggido! Northern Israelite derived jews tend to be a lot lighter in complexion. I'm still doing more research and uncovered that a group made an estimate that 100 million mexicans have some sort of levantine ancestry, since there are actually arabic speaking lebanese, christians and cypriots who also arrived to mexico. This place is basically the levant with a mesoamerican flare, lo amo! Es un placer compartir mi historia con usted, amigo! 🇲🇽✡️

Incredible. I have family connection. A tzaddik in Jamaica Jewish cemetery they have a "ברון" there is a pirate marking on the grave. I am very interested in learning my family history and based on my personality type I have a strong yearning to know more about all this especially the ברון Baron connection

@@bobvanwagner6099 yes ברון in hebrew is "Baron". some people would say Bar-On... In any case thats how you spell it and its written on at least 1 tombstone in Jamaica in the jewish cemetary!!! Very interested to know

This information about the pirate buried next to the Arizal seems to be unknown to standard sources such as online Jamaican history, encylopedias and wikipedia. That also includes the Jewish pirate network of, evidently the later 1500's and then the 1600's. I wonder if that network pulled in Madagasgar, Kerala, ports in SE Asia, and the Slave coast of Africa? In the colonial US privateer networks like as you report for Jews were a staple of Masonic Lodges, as I have learned, in New England and New York. Perhaps there is a linkage?
