There's a buzz in the room thanks to Pete's big roar and the return of CBS Senior Vice President of Late Night Programming (West Coast) Nick Bernstein's red mask, which are a tribute to jockey silks and not a pair of underwear. And James gives out a pair of nicknames to his writers, Jared and Nate.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

One of the few TV shows that makes me laugh genuinely! So happy the crew is back without an audience. You've all got something very special going on here :) Keep it up!

It's likely they don't have an audience yet because of Delta. I don't want the audience, but, they've rearranged the stage & provided chairs (don't like it - feels less intimate, although of course I know sitting on the floor was probably uncomfortable...). Hard to tell what will happen once covid settles again. But, I don't like the new stage setup.

Man I hope the format stays this way. I love the entire crew. I was a theater tech for well over a decade and the nostalgia is a good little plus on top of how just totally funny and great everyone is.

@@rosemadder5547 so much real humor wouldn't happen, or would get lost. I doubt Nick's underwear mask would have happened and that was soooo funny! This format sets then apart, and really, a live audience doesn't affect many. But there are many thousands of us who love this format. I hope management listens when quarantine lifts. If it ever does.

Lots of things to discuss like how good it is to see Pete, how it WOULD be totally normal to see Nick dressed as a jockey, how Wet Paper and Banana Peel is the perfect band name, how we’ve been missing out on Tim’s OF and how impressive the cow joke was. However, the only thing I really need to discuss is how we can adopt Lawrence. He is adorable.

They've come a long way from those first experimental, faintly desperate monologues to this. I keep thinking it's going to get too gimmicky, eventually the banter will get too forced, but no. They're genuinely just a bunch of really funny people with stellar editors who give us the best bits, and the formula just keeps working.
