It's as though these early Joe Jackson audiences were not ready for just how cool Joe Jackson's show was. They seem struck into motionless silence.

That’s just German audience behavior I think they would consider it improper to react before the properly announced time..

Special mention to Graham Maby on bass who has been playing bass with Joe since 1975

Graham is brilliant. He's played with many other artists over the years, and says people often ask him why he doesn't *always* play in the style he uses with the J.J. Band. Of course different music calls for a bass part which suits it.

I know, what a player! The more I hear of him, the more in awe of him I am.

I used to play my bass in more or less the same style as players like Graham Maby, Bruce Thomas and Mick Carn.... So I see him as the partial godfather of my early bassplaying life. And I would still recommend any starter on the instrument to listen to his contributions to music, whatever style the starter would fancy him- or herself.

One of the most underappreciated bassists of all time...but so was this whole band!..They were so tight...in a jazz-like manner.

@@farmasyst Gary Sanford was no slouch on guitar either! You're correct sir, they were tight.

This album went to Number 22 in the US in '79. No way is(or was) Joe Jackson "underrated".

Luc Gnomax---yep one of the greatest musicians of all time he started where he started and look at where he is now with the greatest musicians surrounding him mixing up the arrangements of his old songs along with this new stuff he has never put out anything bad it's nice to know that other people out there who know of Joe Jackson.

I remember when I first heard the look sharp album I was like wtf then went out and bought as few albums at that time and kept buying them and buying them as they came out. Like day from night I was going to all the wrong places then I stepped into another world. Don't quote that it's been awhile since I heard it and I have a few spliffs in me. But I think you all know what I meaning

@@mustlovepretzels You're partially right. If Joe was 22 in '79, unfortunately his fame is not the one he should have.

Nothing is better than the origin. And this was very old good times. Fan, immerschon, seit den 80zigern. Manchmal waren wirklich Perlen beim Rockpalast, auch wenn manches nervte. Joe, ist wirklich einer der ganz Großen!! And still he is one the best of all times!!!
