Sustained excellence draws exponential attention as these women demonstrate to ever increasing audiences how "THE BEAUTIFUL GAME" is meant to be played. They gained my attention, respect, wonder, trust, and deep appreciation during the 2008 Olympics and I've been following them ever since. The future of soccer in the U.S. is solidly entrusted to their stellar custody.

if anyone had to win instead of the U.S it should have been Japan because remember all of those awful thing that happened like the earthquake that led to the tsunami

+Ivy Justice the winner should be based solely on skill and ability, which is the point of the tournament, instead of personal experience. If that were the case, there would never be a winner because each country that qualified had their own devastating experiences in all of their history. Competition is always a measure of which team is the most skilled, most prepared, and who is the overall best for the time being, although sometimes the winner comes down to luck like during a penalty shootout.
